General Two Stroke Talk / It's Back
« on: November 14, 2017, 03:27:35 AM »
I checked a whole bunch of times and this site no longer existed. Just happened to check again for no real reason and it's back working. This site was terrific back in the day. Got to speak with a bunch of really good dudes. Looks like not many are aware the site is back up and going. With two strokes as strong as ever (something we always knew, it just took the general public 10+ years to understand what we were on about) it would be good to see this forum return to it's glory days.

General Two Stroke Talk / Cedric Souberyas
« on: September 05, 2011, 10:57:34 PM »
Any word on if he is going to ride in the several world Supercross events that will be coming up very shortly. Haven't heard his name mentioned since the start of the year when he was supposed to ride the Valli YZ250. Hopefully he does ride, and is out there again on a two stroke. Kid has talent !!

General Two Stroke Talk / Check This Out

Now something like this wouldn't come up everyday, and if I had a spare $10 large lying around I would snap this up in a second.

Now I have always been a Yamaha man through and through, but I always thought that '95 model Hondas was just such awesome looking bikes. And what I really want to know is how anyone can go and buy a bike like this brand new, and never ever ride the bike in the dirt. They have a lot more will power than I do.

ps. I am in no way trying to aid in the selling of this bike. I just thought you guys would like to check it out.

Vintage Two Strokes / Enter Vintage Era
« on: August 29, 2011, 01:11:57 AM »
Hey all,
Been round these traps for quite a while, but had become disenchanted lately with the sport of motocross, and some of my posts probably reflected that. Having been seriously hurt, spent many months on the couch last year, and tracks round where I live being forced to close down, as well as the escalating costs of racing now that I am no longer working within the motorcycle industry, I had pretty much given up. I had stopped watching the racing on TV, but went down to one of the local races to check out a few mates who were racing. After watching for about an hour, I definitely wasn't missing racing at all, and this was further re-instated when two other mates that I hadn't spoken to in a few weeks were both in plaster. My bikes and gear were sold, and I was looking for a new hobby.
Anyway, sitting in the back of my shed is an '82 model YZ125J that I have had for about a year. I have been reinvigorated this past weekend, as I decided to put a spanner to what is essentially an original, unmolested example of a YZ125J. After some fresh fuel, a change of the gear box oil, and a drain of the float bowl, she kicked over and ran after about 8 kicks. I am going to need a few things, and have ordered some parts, but I think I will be spending some more time around here again. I am excited as the scene looks great, and to watch all these old bikes going around again on some awesome tracks that are raced on, it really goes back to what motocross is all about. Great bikes, great atmosphere, great tracks, and some amazing sounds from both small bore and big bore two strokes being ridden wide open. Already been looking at what I can buy for my second bike. I hope things dont spiral out of control !!      ;D     ;D     ;D

Check out this story, and have a look at where they are using current Yamaha two stroke motors, and who is funding it. Definitely different, and for all the four stroke jockeys that claim that the two strokes were to put to death by the American goverment, and not the AMA / mx sports, this says otherwise. Check it out :

General Two Stroke Talk / Super X Round 6
« on: November 27, 2010, 12:40:41 AM »
Super X is all go as we speak. Robbie Marshall has just won his heat on his YZ 250. This included beating a whole bunch of top factory riders, including Matt Moss, on 250F's. Awesome result for Robbie. Track looks to suit the two strokes this week. Some good qualifying results from the few guys on the two strokes. Expect some great finishes from Robbie in the finals. Woo Hoo !!!!!

General Two Stroke Talk / Two Stroke Domination
« on: November 24, 2010, 04:08:28 AM »
Just read on another site about the final Enduro X event. Track looked super gnarly, and true to form, the two stroke dominated the event. Taddy Blasuziak and his KTM walked away with another win with Geoff Aaron on his two wheel drive KTM behind him in second. The win gave Taddy the Championship win, and the 5th win from 6 starts, The only other winner for the series was Geoff Aaron, who was able to get one win in the series. A great result for these guys, as well as KTM and their two strokes.

Some great results for KTM and their two strokes on the weekend with Cedric Soubeyras' awesome overall finish in Bercy.

The uprising is here and now !!

General Two Stroke Talk / It's Official !!

Anyone in Australia that wants to go racing next year, you can now race the lites class on a 250 two stroke. New rules as follows :

Motorcycling Australia (MA) is aware of the need to purchase bikes for the 2011 racing season prior to the release of the 2011 Manual of Motorcycle Sport (MoMS).

As a result MA has decided to release the following rule change prior to the distribution of the MoMS.

Two changes have been made to Chapter 17 regarding bikes used for competition.

GCR 17.5.1.1b) will (from 1 January 2011) read:

Class - Capacity
Lite:
Up to 250cc (2 or 4 stroke)

Open
255cc and over 4 stroke
250cc and over 2 stroke (2 stroke permitted to ride one class only)

GCR 17.12.1 will (from 1 January 2011) read:

Class - Capacity 2 stroke - Capacity 4 stroke
Pro Lites - Up to 250cc - Up to 250cc
Pro Open - 255cc to 450cc - 255cc to 450cc

These changes will come into effect from 1 January 2011, and the completed MoMS will be placed online at www.ma.org.au/moms once finalised, in addition to being distributed in December.

For more information please visit the MA website at: www.ma.org.au.

General Two Stroke Talk / World Vet Championships - Glen Helen
« on: November 07, 2010, 04:18:53 AM »
Anyone going or racing this event ?? I just noticed that Willy Musgrave was riding a trick Service Honda CR250 in the over 40 pro class, and finished fifth overall. This was against the likes of Dubach, Gordon Ward, Ron Lechien, and Kurt Nicoll. An awesome result against riders of this caliber. Shawn Wynne also managed an eighth place finish, but it did not say what he was riding, just the fact that he was on a two stroke. Would be great to see some photos or a write up from the event !!

Photos & Videos / Can you help ??
« on: November 05, 2010, 11:23:06 PM »
Hey guys,

I really need to see some photos of some factory Yamaha bikes from 97 and 98. I have searched high and low on many websites including this one, and have come up with nothing. Even google images was no good. If anyone can supply some photos of the factory 125's and 250's from 1997 and 1998 I would very much appreciate it.

Thanks !!

General Two Stroke Talk / Transworld change of heart ???
« on: October 16, 2010, 12:11:05 AM »
Check out this vid. Maybe the guys over at transworld are having a change of heart, and are getting behind the two stroke again.
The KTM 150 is probably the bike to make someone re-consider their four stroke opinions !!!
