Check out this story, and have a look at where they are using current Yamaha two stroke motors, and who is funding it. Definitely different, and for all the four stroke jockeys that claim that the two strokes were to put to death by the American goverment, and not the AMA / mx sports, this says otherwise. Check it out :

I once worked for a company that was developing a remotely controlled autonomous underwater vehicle. During testing we would chase crabs across the ocean floor and when they tired of running they would turn around and attack the viewport with their pinchers. It was fascinating work.

On the subject of 250 Yamahas,a neighbour recently gave me a 250 Yamaha Enticer snowmobile. One pull cord,a fuel pump and an old 30mm Mikuni later and that little Yamaha is flying down the local trails. ;D

'Government' is not anti 2t, per se. But of course, when people think about dirty engines, everyman and his dog thinks about the old , smoky as hell 2t. So, it's easy to get a reaction from greenies and people in power when you mention a 2t - unless they really are genuinely into pollution reduction and thus know what they are talking about.

When we have companies producing  DFI 2t engined bicycle front wheel kits, touting their cleanness and fuel efficiency, together with their simplicity, you know things aren't that bleak. But waiting for KTM or others to finally bring them out is frustrating, but whilst they can still pass Euro  and other countries legislation's, they will probably milk the current engines / inductions for all their worth. Understandable.

DFI, modern ARC, AST etc are important for cleanliness and fuel efficiency. Power/ powerbands, adjust-ability ( flick a switch, drop a firing cycle, lesson a firing cycles power for tractability etc.) will be a great benefit, but getting things legal for road use Is the eldorado of the modern 2t. Something the drongos on other sites, no matter how clearly you explain the benefits of DFI, etc, can't seem to understand. Power, is not an issue for the old style 32ts we currently have.
