Bowhunter eh?Off topic I know but what breed of bow do you shoot Coop?
I'd rather a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal lobotomy.

I'll send you a pm so we don't ruin PPMS's 125 thread  :) .

Re Packed my shorty yesterday, just finished installing the new power valve connecting rod.

99 YZ 400F forks are ready to be rebuilt when the rest of the parts get here, tommorrow I hope. Hopefully the Athena kit should be too, but maybe Monday. :|

Looking good.

Just curious, why did you decide to go with the 400 forks?

Good question. I was doing some research on respringing for my oversize. :) I'm 6'2, 230ish

The recommended spring rates for me were:
Front: .480 kg
Rear: 5.40 kg
The YZ 400 stock are .460kg (close to mine)front. And 5.40 rear (exact)

The 125 stock Spring rates are:
.421 Front
4.8 Rear

So the 400's rates are close on the front, and exact on the rear for my recommended rates.
I happened to pick up a 99 400F for a part out, so it became a donor. :)

Also the 400 forks have a better routing for the brake line before it connects to the caliper, not as exposed to rocks, etc.

I was going to send them to Factory Connection, then I thought about when I go to sell it.. I couldnt justify almost $1000 to get it set up perfect for me, just to sell it to someone that would need them rebuilt to thier size anyway. So the donor is the route I went.

That bike is looking bitchin.
You have done a great job and I have enjoyed you sharing the process, thanks.
If you know how to weld, perhaps the old four stroke frame could be made into a wind chime  :o

Ok, the last of my parts came in today  ;D
BUT.. now I need to order a few other parts, so I can't finish this weekend. :|

Have to order a Rod needle bearing, and a few other OEM power valve parts.
The Athena kit does not come with the bearing, or power valve rod etc.

Of course I can't do anything with the motor until the bearing arrives.
Kind of sucks being held up on reassembly because of 1 bearing

Seals and Wipers came for the forks, so I can continue the rebuild and installation of them.

Finished rebuilding the 400's forks, and started reassembly. :D
It's starting to look like a bike again. A few more days of waiting on parts and it will be finished.. for now.

More pics to come. :)
