General Two Stroke Talk / mxa 2t vs 4t
« on: March 07, 2013, 03:30:48 AM »
Totally agree Glen. If they had a Senior 125 class again, I would sell all my bikes and just race that class. Would be the greatest thing to happen to the sport, but unfortunately, here in Aus, I dont think it will happen anytime soon. One can only hope.

What does "spec'd" mean exactly?

I will be checking the tolerances of critical wear parts in relation to their factory specifications, and replacing those which don't meet the standard. This is a fairly common practice during a major rebuild. Do forgive my lack of clarity.

You are preaching to the choir with that post dude. 2T was prob hoping it was gonna be a crazy build chasing real strong hp numbers with plenty of rideability. Just building it to oem spec, while good, isn't very exciting.

They are all eligible to be raced in the same class. Why include bikes that are open class bikes ??

Go to MXA's site, and you'll see in a couple of REM / Basher's Mid week reports, a KTM SX / KX500 special they are testing, for a future article in the mag.

Looks good.

:-[ I just went back a page on postings, and saw the static pic had a thread already.

Here's an 'action'picture :

And the static picture originaly posted elsewhere:

Put a simple decomp on a 500, and they're childs play to start. As for the d***heads that scorn that, and feel you should be a 'hard man' to start a 500, I say, go **** yourself. The less effort / quicker to start my 500 is, leaves me more in my tank, for riding - plus you don't stress the cases / KS shaft. I use an tiny, Gas Gas lever as a KS lever, so I don't have to bend my non - bendy knees too far, during starting. You'd be lucky to turn the bike over with it, and you'd certainly break the pivot post (13mm, as against 19mm, if I recall correctly) in a few kicks, without the decomp.

Why am I the only one whose bike wheelies if I sit that far backward on the seat?  >:-D

He is probably in like third gear and riding it like a 450.

General Two Stroke Talk / Is it me or have we slowed down a bit??
« on: February 14, 2013, 05:25:00 AM »
If like me, you're in the habit of looking at this forum first for news and fresh activity with regard to TwoStrokeMotocross.com, then things could be perceived to have slowed down. BUT, we have to keep in mind that TwoStrokeMotocross.com's web traffic and "Real time" web activity are more spread out now, with much happening on Facebook and Twitter and things like that.

There's TONS of activity in the TwoStrokeMotocross.com family of sites and pages, but there are now MORE sites and pages. Because of that, the stream of new posts and interactions in any one place is bound to slow a bit.

In the past, we used this board as our main "Real Time" exchange, and looked at the main page for the articles. Then we'd usually discuss those articles from the main page here, so traffic was very deep. Now we've decentralized that stream a bit, because we also interact on a real time basis through some of TSM's other channels.

It's not necessarily a bad thing, the Facebook and Twitter stuff is probably good for the site demographically. But at the same time, we have to expect it to weaken the pulse of this forum a little bit.

Glad to see your still here TS. What happened to the crazy Vital antics?? That stuff was great. Really started a commotion. And the names you kept coming up with were something else. Classic.

General Two Stroke Talk / Positive signs at my local track on sunday
« on: February 12, 2013, 11:57:31 AM »
Yeah, there are continuously more and more two strokes back at the tracks again. I remember back in 08 through to 2010, it wasnt uncommon for me to be on the only two stroke out there. On sunday where I rode, it was probably getting close to 50/50. Definitely making an impression and a lot more guys going back to a two stroke. If the vet scene wasn't so big, there wouldn't be that many 450's being ridden.

I am looking forward to the nats here in Aus, the under 19s and lites class should have plenty of two strokes in it.

Also, the latest Dirt Action magazine has a massive portion of the mag dedicated to two strokes, with race tests, reviews and a massive buyers guide on all the current two strokes. Great to see.

Super Trucker is on it. I had the 94 GP world championship review on VHS back in the day, and used to watch that video all the time. The 125's were great to watch, with Bobby Moore and Alessio Chiodi battling for the championship.
