Well well   look what I found in the back of the shed, must be twenty years old! Built this for my kids when they were little. Weed eater engine through a 5" angle grinder gearbox, final drive by 1/4" pitch chain. This bike must have done thousands of miles round and round our house. All the kids down the street had a go at crashing it. I'll have to fix it up for the next generation, fresh carnage.

Here is what Meagan normally rides.

she's quite tall, most girls around this area either ride big wheel 85's or 250f's, not sure why they dont ride 125's vs 250f's. way lighter/easier to start/etc

but i can see the allure of the 250f's, they're basically everybody's perfect bike, easy power/wont kill you/fairly light/99% of the population ride them faster than 450's 250 2t

one of my friends rides a yz250f, she's pretty dang good
here she is taking the holeshot in the novice class (#22)

Whatever allure there is to a 250F to me is destroyed by the 1800 dollars after 40 hours for a top end. If theres one thing you're right about, its that Meghan is bloody tall.

And considering daddy is machining his own EFI kit for a YZ250, I think its safe to say he can do the labour himself :D

The latest comeback I've heard for this cost of four strokes is: THey're only like that if you rev them hard. To which I reply: Would you agree that revs = speed in most cases? Yessss... So I should buy a bike that I can't afford to go fast on as opposed to a bike I can rev to the moon and refurbish for around $120?

My favourite part about going to the track is seeing all the dumbstruck faces as I roll off, having just blown by 250Fs and 450s alike :D

Yes daddy fix's it. But Meagan might have to go back to the YZ250T for a while as the 250F is sitting in the workshop with no engine, fitting the new cases to it for the YZ360 VRV, just patterns so far but I needed the engine out to make sure everything is going to fit. Might have to find another one          ( 250F )with a wrecked engine so Meagan can ride her fourstroke again, Meagan's engine is still 20 hours off a new piston.

Yes I am tall 6'1'', but I have no choice as dad (Uniflow) is also very tall. I am aware this is a yz250f and I do apologise, (it is the first 4stroke in the family since the TT500). I did used to ride dad's yz250 which was such exciting fun! But that was until I had a bad crash into an open culvert at a trail ride (now called Meagan's Culvert apparently). The robust yz250 was left unscathed except for a dent in the exhuast...sorry dad haha. I'm not allowed the yz250 anymore... But it sounds like I have no engine in the 250f so you?re a bit brave letting me back on the 250 dad haha just make sure the dented exhaust is back on for when I come home coz the last thing we want is a mark on the fancy shiny exhaust!

Welcome aboard. Is the TT500 when you had some issues with the drum brakes? Not much chop are they? :D I know how you feel. I almost took out my old man cos I was used to the rotor and caliper on my CR125. Got back on my XR100R and it just wouldn't stop.
