Stock yz250 motor vs. $10,000+ factory built motor. It would be interesting comparison. after looking it up they are pushing 43hp built.

With 1 round to go DK sits in second place just 2 points behind Aussie Rockstar Suzuki Rider Daniel McCoy.
McCoy went 2-5-1 to win the round while DK went 5-3-3 to finish 3rd for the day.
McCoy is on 183, DK on 181 & Fellow Aussie Cody Mackie 3rd in the standings on 158.
The last round is this weekend so we all need to cheer on DK and his 2 stroke. :P
With a bit of luck we will have a MX2 champ on a smoker.

Big props to Darryl for this accomplishment. This is huge, the talent is deep these days in NZ, and he must have been on the gas. Great for Yamaha and their two stroke range.

Swapper do you know if any guys are lining up on smokers this year for the Aussie MX champs ?
There was a couple last year.
This just shows a well riden smoker is competetive with 250F's and not an unfair advantage as our American rule maker freinds seem to think. ;)
DK may be old but was the best rider in the series.

P.S I would love to know what Yamaha thinks of the results and if they will actually take advantage of it.
YZ's are sold here but not advertised. ???

Yeah, what did we miss. Factory X has had some good input while posting here. Guess that is over. Yeah TMKiwi, I am no longer in the industry, and have shifted my career, so not heading to the races any longer unfortunately. Have not spoken to anyone that rode the first round in melbourne yet either. So, sorry I cant give you a definitive answer, but having a look at the line up for the U/19's and lites, I think there would be lucky to even have one or two 250 two strokes out there. There was talk that one of the young guns coming straight out of juniors was going to ride a 125 in the U/19s class, but not sure who that was, and if it eventuated. A bit out of the loop, after only two months out of the industry. Will definitely try and find out.

Ya gotta love Daryl King..Guy is certainly a legend!
I say well done.I reckon if he was on the 4 stroke the result would likely be the same though..He is just an unreal rider..Not about the bike.
I know I wouldnt be any faster on a modern 4 stroke..and I sure as hell dont wanna live with one!
