Hill: He said I wish the 4 stroke was never invented, but it was a quick response. I think he meant to say, produced for MX bikes. Either way, shoots down the "in the pits, no pros have interest in 2 strokes." Just interesting hearing that.
My friend said the same thing. That the 400 wasn't that great. But here's the thing. DC already said, due to the whole EPA thing, the OEM's were trying to convert over to the 4 strokes. So there is no conspiracy, it's more of a fact. Said that Yamaha didn't feel the 400 was big enough to be "competitive". Thus, the 450's were used. Mathis, says one thing everytime and it really pisses me off. "Yeah, um but we spoke with our wallets." When magazines tell you a 450 is better, when OEM's stop basically any types of updates, when ads are for the 450F, when dealers are telling you that 2 strokes are banned, when rules allow something like this, uhh duh. It's only obvious.
But I regress, I have given up on pro's, it's not gonna happen. Haven't you guys noticed on my Vital posts, that 4 stroke guys shut up when I post about magazines? Seriously, they kept on posting that us 2 strokers could 99.9% of the time buy and race them. Well since I started asking them to confirm that magazines should thus run a legit shootout, with the same bikes us 99.9% of the population can buy and race. Chirp chirp chirp from the crickets. See, magazines and shootouts are where we lost the game, now we need to win it back. Magazines are the heart of sales, and shootouts should have what amateurs can race and buy. Not pros racing. Start pushing the full shootout and you will see the 4 strokers shut up...
