Meanwhile,out in Western Canada........
« on: January 22, 2011, 02:30:17 PM »
Cabin fever has set in.For those not familiar with the term,it comes from being snowed in all winter and apparently, the isolation causes odd mental issues. Those suffering are said to retreat to their backyard sheds for long periods, forsake washing, shaving etc while mumbling incoherently about their motorcycular projects that will revolutionize the industry.Poor Sachs,I hope it warms up soon-one can only wonder about the name.....

I'd rather a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal lobotomy.

I gather it will not help with the cabin fever if i tell you it has been 30 Deg here for the last week.  :-X

Although we have had 5 inches of rain in the last 3 day's.  :(
If you don't fall off you are not going hard enough

Actually I just got into snowmobiling this winter and IT IS FUN! I'm blasting down many of the trails I normally ride my dirtbike on and I'm really enjoying myself.

Sometimes in areas (like the Maritimes of Canada) that have very limited genetic diversity in their populations,a phenomenon know as stalled and/or reverse evolution takes place. You'll notice in the inhabitants traits such as excessive hairyness, inordinately long arms and even sloping foreheads and prominent brow ridges.Scientists are attempting to reverse this regression by asking the local population to seek partners in areas outside the immediate local.

I wouldn't mind at all a vacation down under. ;D

You know my wife? :o :D
I'd enjoy the snow more if my ZR900 wasn't sitting in the basement with a blown crank-d'oh

Yeah,30' doesn't help much-unless you could send some this way :)

it has been in the low 40's  all week and I been riding my dual sport, matter of fact, bout to drop of my daughter at school on it. Then go beat through that little trail behind the airport and be back home before the coffee pot shuts off. :)
If a pair of 2" brass balls isn't working, I doubt that the 3" model will make much difference.

Fichtel and Sachs AG,Schweinfurt, was an incredible company. In the late 60's and early 70's Europe was powered by Sachs smallbores. KTM and Maico started out with Sachs engines and ,indeed, at one point Sachs was the continent's largest motorcycle manufacturer. They built the world's first rotary powered motorcycles, seven speed competition bikes and dominated the ISDE.Rotax was Sachs Austria.

Sach's chainsaw division Dolmar built the world's first wankel powered chainsaw,I just purchased a PS6400 Dolmar. The things sounds like a 125 motocrosser.

The bicycle division went on to become SRAM - you mountain bikers out there know what I am talking about.

The Sachs suspension division has gone on to supply most of Europe's motorcycle manufacturers.Anybody have a Gasgas?Sachs suspension.Half Europe's automobiles have Sachs shocks and clutches.

Sachs used to have a stable of racing Porsches, one of it's 917s won Lemans.

At one point, not too long ago, corporate raiders somehow how managed to gain control of Fichtel and Sachs. They dismembered the company and sold the 100+ year old assets for a tidy profit and in spite of this damage each division is moving onward. So you see there's more to that little Madass then meets the eye.

Ford, you didn't actually believe me about reverse evolution?By the way I've got some Florida swampland I'd like to talk to you about.

P.S. Like most Maritime girls your wife is probably a knockout. ;)

My mtb has sram bits on it.I wasn't aware where they came from.
6400 is a good saw.I knew Dolmar was different from sachsdolmar as when I tried to order parts for my old 121 4wheeler saw I was out of luck.
Sachs did build some good bike engines but the built some horrendous dogs as well.
As for my wife, she's tried to knock me out on numerous occasions but I don't understand why ::)
Now then, how much for the swampland?
