Once in a blue moon Ford is actually right

I'd rather a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal lobotomy.

The 83's were Ohlins equipped. What are your fabrication skills? Since the 83 has a steel swingarm it would not be that difficult to fabricate a carrier mount for the caliper and then you would have make a mount on the frame for the rear master cylinder as well. Is your 83 a Sand Spider with the wide ratio 5 speed?

The 83 Maico is one of the best handling bikes I have ever ridden and I actually have a project on the go based on the 83 chassis as well.

Ya, the only thing I am worried about with the 83 swingarm is the disc clearing the swingarm since the wheel is pretty close.  Something I need to measure, but that is an option and one I would rather do provided the disc will clear the swingarm.

Post some pictures of it.

Hey Toby, I'll be sending you the front end soon. The mechanics tearing it down. :)

The best and easiest front end conversion I did to my Maico was from '87 cr 250, I just had to get the standard clamps enlarged 1/2 mm and everything just slotted straight in. They are  different fork to the 125, and give a far better ride. Traditional KYB's on the 125, showa cartridge on 250/500, just make sure you get 86/87 versions, the 88's where shit.
