I haven't been in the game too long...

Guy Cooper -- one of the first few guys recognized for doing 'whips'.  I remember reading the how-to's and about how he'd get the bike so cranked over he at times wouldn't get it back - I was blown away by that stuff... it's probably tame today.

Doug Henry -- he was somewhat local to me.

Scott Summers -- Rode woods on an XR600R.  Saw that pic of him holding the bike up in the air in front of himself - not sure if it was real or not.  My first bike was an XR100, so I looked up to him.  http://justxr.com/jh_info/ssummers.html

What's awesome is windham still rides.....and is still very competetive. I know we would all love to see Ricky come back and stomp it on a 2stroke. I feel young in comparison to some of you guys....I'm still a little shocked about cigarette sponsorships when I was young. The world of MX has changed quite a bit....worst part about it is the sound:/

Bob Armstrong - 1920s Hill climb champ



Roy Artley - One of the earliest motorcycle racters from 1910s to 1920s, most famous for City to City record runs.



Sam Arena Sr. - Top motorcycle racer from 1930s to 1950s in  dirt track, road racing, speedway and hillclimbing.

I remember a story about Decoster as a manager of Team Suzuki from Chicken. Chicken and two other Suzuki pros (don't remember who now) were doing laps on the test track. Roger wasn't happy with their performance. They blamed the bike. He got on it and turned faster laps than the young pros. No warm up. No preparation. That's Roger.
