I don't have anything recent, have to wait and see. 

I don't know the situation, but Dirt Wurx essentially is just the importer, if you want a bike they can import it for you.  Not sure that we will see a line up of 1000's Maicos since it costs money to make them.  Not sure how much on cash they have to build bikes without owners.  Ppl build condos the same way, they get ppl to buy them then they build them and if they don't have buyers they can't fund the building, but not in all cases obviously.

So I am not sure what the situation is here and I am not sure what to expect.  They coudl be sitting in Dirt Wurx's shop right now or he could just be waiting for you to email him and ask him to import you one.

Hey Huffieva,if you want a Koestler Maico give Rick Lago a call at Motocentre (1-509-453-2121) in Yakima,WA. I've bought a couple of Maicos off Rick and he really goes the whole nine yards to make sure they are properly setup. ;D

I'd have a hard time buying a bike with no real NA support network.I'm not shy of buying Euro's ore something rare-I had one of the first KTM's and Bergs in this area though I also bought from a dealer in the area-Until the new Maico's had something established,I'd stay away.These days,my riding time is limited so when I want to go,I want to go.I wouldn't want to be hung up on parts.

When I had my business I found that I actually had to wait longer for Kawasaki parts then Maico parts.When dealers find it cheaper to order parts then to stock parts the whole local dealer thing loses it's appeal.I can order parts just as easily as the dealer and my wallet notices the difference.

I had to wait 2 months for honda parts before and I ordered them from the local Motosport shop.  Clutch parts and side panels.  I ended up canceling the side panels after that long and stuck with the old ones.

I've had parts order horror stories as well.Oddly though,years ago you always heard of KTM/Husaberg as being hell to get parts for but for me,they were the fastest by far.
KTM/Husaberg were well established elsewhere though.I'd hate to be the local Maico guinea pig-especially when they need so many parts ;)

Really?Three days max for me(KTM).Keep in mind I'm told by the dealer at the time I ordered stuff nobody else does-simply because my theory is,if I'm in that far,might as well replace x,y,z.Still,never any problem.
Which reminds me of an old joke from back in the eighties/nineties.
I wouldn't post it but TMKIWI is probably half drunk now getting ready for the concert so he'll never read it.
Anyway.......

"The latest news reports confirm that scientists have discovered a cure for aids.They've given it a Yamaha part # so nobody can get it"

I appreciated that after waiting 4 months for an RZ head bearing way back when. :)

I restored a 1984 KTM 125MX around 1999-2000 and didn't have much trouble. The only parts I couldn't get were the lower rod bearing and pin. I matched the bearing with a CR and had the pin made by a friend that worked in a machine shop. However 3-4 years ago I had a 1986 KTM 250 given to me and I couldn't get the digital control anymore. I wasn't paying $400 for PVL when I never heard the bike run  :D. I bought two digital controls on eBay and both were bad so in a fit of annoyance I drug it out to the end of the driveway one night with a free sign on it. A week later I saw a guy parting it out on c'list lol.
