hey im looking at picking up an 05 yz 125 thats been bored out to a 144. its not athena kit but it was done by a local shop. has anyone had any experience with a 144 and how did it compare to a port and polished 125? thanks

Reliability is an issue...What you local shop did to it? Yes..it moves faster than a port and polished 125...but the best thing is the sound! They sound so good!!  A local guy has a KTM144 and has no problems to hang-out with the 250f...

If I remember correctly,the KTM 144 is bored and stroked both.If the bike you're looking  has only been bored you may find it lacking on the top end.A 125 with a 250 like powerband wouldn't be my choice but it depends on your riding style I suppose.
I'd rather a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal lobotomy.
