Project Two 50 Race Bike photos - sneak peek!!
« on: June 25, 2010, 07:08:25 AM »
Yesterday was a busy day at the Project Two 50 race shop!! Todd preparing the National bike for Red Bud along with Mike and Roger working on the "new" practice machine. Jackie and Derek worked on preparing the golf cart, trailer and offering help where ever needed.

I just tried to stay out of the way!!  ;D ;D

Mike and Roger working on the practice bike.

Mike rode the two bikes back to back for the first time... the difference in power is crazy. You can actually hear the difference! The practice bike "pings", the National machine "ROARS"....

More to come!

Little hint, hook the gas line up, the bike will run better... ;D

Seriously, the bike looks awesome! Very nice.

You're funny!! I snuck in there when Todd had to answer the call of nature!  ;D ;D

Thanks for the compliments... it runs better than it looks!

Hopefully in a week or two we'll have a pro photographer take some really good pics!!

I love the details, number on the axles, graphics, titanium, color, etc.
Are those radiator brackes behind the tank plastic?
Killer bike.

That race bike is AMAZING. The level of detail you guys have gone too is unbelievable.

Make sure Mike is careful on the practice bike still using standard suspension.

Who said it was stock??  :-* :-*

While it's not at the same level as the A kit, it's pretty close. Jay at Get Real Racing (our suspension guy) set them up to have the internal valving set really close to the race bike... no it does not have the coatings, nor does it respond like the A kit... but it's similar enough that Mike can practice at "Mike Speed"!!  :o :o

Thanks for all the compliments!!

Man I tell you what a tricked out #894 Suzuki RM 250 would look good next to the big YZ, lol.

I want that suspension bad, I might possibly give one of my nuts to have a works suspension kit like that!

I suppose, this is most likely not the right time, or place to be asking this, as you are likely not looking this far ahead right now, but is there a possibility, if you get more sponsorship money, of sending a rider to Canada next year? We have a well established racing series, with TV coverage and everything, although, our tracks are a little different. Meaning, that we don't groom our tracks as often as the California tracks, our tracks get very rough, it would be quite a statement to do well with a two stroke at a track in Canada, and, don't worry, there is good competition in Canada, maybe not as good as in America, but we have riders like Blair Morgan, and Colton Faccioti, you also may have a better chance of qualifying in Canada, as, we have no true factory teams. Just a thought
I'd rather be riding...

If this project went to Canada, they shouldnt be concerned about "having a chance of qualifying", they should be concerned if they DIDN'T WIN. While the Canada series might get TV coverage in Canada, the AMA national series gets worldwide coverage and is the number 1 series in the world. The only place to make a statement for the two strokes is in the AMA national series.

There, I fixed it.

Is this Maico a 440 or only a 400?  Well in all the confusion, I forgot myself.
But considering this is a 1978 Magnum, the best-handling bike in the world, you have to ask yourself one question.
Do you feel lucky, punk?

Uhm, not necassarily... Lot's of American riders, actually a good amount of the riders, are American, and they don't win, besides, who is to say that our series does not get broadcasted in the US as well?
