Any inside info on 2011 YZ's?
« on: June 08, 2010, 09:22:48 PM »
They have been the same for 5 years now and I know yamaha doesn't care much about their 2T bikes anymore but they have to change something this year don't they?!? Even if its just the plastics! Anyone have any solid inside info?

Thats a bummer. They have all the 2011 bikes on the canadian site and there are no changes to the 2011 bikes other than B.N.G.! LAME!

Seems to me that before long if we want to buy a new smoker it will be from Europe and not Japan. Right along with the hefty price tag that usually comes with them.

You might pay more for a euro brand but you have to remember that alot of them are fully kitted.
No need to buy all the after market stuff.
I havnt spent 1 dollar on extras on my bike.

2005 YZ's still.  Screw Yamaha. Buy a KTM, Maico, TM or Husky.  It's a penjalum, (spelling?)  It was them before, they went out, and now they are coming back. On a side note. That 450F is Fugly!!!

Not really... The engine, suspension internals, and the front end of the plastics were changed in 2006... Minor refinements in 07-09 including weights savings, wave rotors, different seat cover, etc.  The 2010 was the first model year to come with no changes but the graphics. Definately a better bike now than it was in '05.

Funny how Yamaha kinda kicked off this four stroke thing , And they are the only ones who will give us a 2t here in the states from Japan. Sure the Euro bikes come pretty complete but what if its the stuff you don't care for (bar bend, rims ect.)

Bar bends & rims etc are always going to be a personal thing on any bike.
Nothing against Yamaha but if we suport the euro companies it has to be better for the 2 stroke in the long run.

I completly agree, support the companies that make the stuff we like. I'm sure they all watch each others sales on specific models, If they notice 2t sales start to out pace the snore strokes they will want a piece of it.

I can't support the Euros because I can't race any of them in the nationals except KTM and I wont buy another KTM because I had nothing but problems with my last one. I thought about buying a 2011 but then changed my mind. I want to ride Kawi's!
