None of them. Save up and pick up a later model 125sx, rm125(REALLY GOOD), yz125, or a Husqvarna WR/CR125(Can be had for $1500). Save your cash for something you can keep enjoying, and not on something you'll struggle to get parts for in a couple years

What type of riding are you going to do.?
If you want a cool project buy the KX and make a Splitfire replica. Flo green and all.   8)

FactoryX has a valid point.  Buy the newest, and in best shape bike that you can afford.  Parts will be easier to come by and you will be able to resell the bike when you are ready to move on.

I rode a '92 RM125 back when they were new, and I wouldn't recomend that death trap to anyone.... ha ha ha

I would go with the 99 yz. First of all, you are getting the newer engine to the same body style generation. People may say that the parts are going to be hard to come by, but look through rocky mountain atv and flea bay and you will have no problem getting every single part for that bike.

Love all the yz's I have owned. my recent yz for my wife was a 2007 yz125 and I personally liked the 2003 yz125 better due to the steel frame. the aluminum frame felt very rigid! Both engines felt about the same with fresh bottom and top ends.

I would be very happy on the '99 YZ.

The YZ was the best bike from the mid '90's to the mid '00's until KTM bested them with modernization (just my opinion). The YSS is the best thing since the cartridge fork though.

I know this means nothing but between '96 and '02 I had each year YZ125. The '98 was my favorite, but the '99 was exactily the same. I kept the year old bike as my practice bike and the extra engine and suspension work I did on the '98 was really nice. The '99 got the suspension from the '98 but not the motor (139cc). When I got the '00, I sold the '99 and kept the '98 (after getting my suspension back - of course). Almost no parts fit from the '01 and up but everything fits well from '96 to '00.

I found that out the hard way...but that's another story.

Go with the YZ, I have a 03 YZ 125 and a 2000 YZ 250. Parts are easy to find for both. Bullet proof bikes.
