I see the new 38mm cast APT smart carbs are close to being shipped.  Is anyone here getting one? Curious minds want to know...

Well, it might be a decent product, but they've screwed over a ton of people who have waiting for them close to a year now. They just now finished testing for design flaws, 2 years after they put the product on the market. If you get one wait another year, then pick one up, if not just pick up a lectron. Some people here bash smart carbs, and they are partly right. They give you what you would get from perfect jetting.

I've been watching the "battle" from afar...  I was curious if anyone here was waiting for one.

I did do one to his custom yz250 build with an apt here on the site, posted dyno results that showed that it had taken off the bottom and put more on top. Maybe it flowed better? If I do pick one up I would probably do a 36mm. Either way his build was questionable, pipe/airbox/pipe mods etc.. At least they fixed the overflow problem, apparently with the APT and Lectron its better to let the bike run if it falls over(It will stay running with these carbs), as if it dies the cases would fill with gas. APT just fix this with a shut off valve that stops gas if tipped to far. Lectron has yet to counter this, but I still like them more as they have had a decent product for the last 40 years.
