.......................around here at least. Anyway are there any Maico distributors in the USA at this time? I'd like to see and ,well yes I wanna ride one. If it's what it appears to be I may even purchase one. So any info? I've e-mailed the address on the website and maybe they don't do English 'cause I got no response.

I don't know why I keep seeing it's a bad subject?  I'm all for Maico and would love to help promote them.  I'll contact them and ask.

To fill you in on the Maico ribbing... for a while every thread was turning into a Maico thread... talk about the stock market, what's the cure? Maico.. It was actually really funny.. a few of us began a bit of teasing, which is why some folks have been afraid to mention Maico.

The truth is that the new Maico's are awesome bikes!! I am friends with both the International distributor and the new US distributor. I will do anything to help these guys as they have done so much to help me.

The EPA and DOT approvals should be completed in the next few weeks or so. Which means that the new Maico machines will be on the way to the states soon. I will be talking to Rich (new US Maico distributor) on Sunday and I'll ask where things stand..

When we last spoke he was planning to have at least one bike available for testing.

As John said, Too many threads turned into a religious chorus about "OLD" Maico's and the shit started flying.

Hey Big Boar,I'm glad to see someone else has interest in the Maico brand! I owned a "81"in the late eighties but sold it a couple years later.(WHICH WAS STUPID OF ME!!!)anyway I just wanted to say that I E-mailed Rich in mid April with a few questions about the new Maicos & he e-mailed me back the next day with the answers to all my questions & like John said he is the distributer here in the States.I sent Rich a e-mail at <rich@dirtwurx.com>and he stated in his e-mail to me that he was still working out the DOT legalities and it would take a few months like John here at TSM mentioned.The only negative thing about the new Maico bikes is they will be fairly expensive due to the dollar/euro and the dollar/pound exchange rates but I'm still interested in buying one none the less.Good luck Big Boar getting the info you need & if you e-mail Rich I have no doubt that he will answer all of your questions.

I meant the Maico and the TM Racing machines... it is much less money to get started as a dealer for these brands than the Big 4... they will not demand that you must buy a certain amount of machines and a pile of parts.

If you are a small businessman with an accessory or repair shop and would like to carry these machines, please contact the distributors, you may be very surprised at how reasonable it is to become a dealer.

maicoman009 - it seems that Big Boar has decided to leave our merry band of folks on the board... if I recall properly this is his second attempt on the board. Not sure what the problem is/was...

It hurt when I purchased my newest Maico (I could have bought a new Hyundai car for the same money!), but the bikes are durable and come with very high quality components so in the long run it evens out.
 
The larger manufacturers offer floor plans and other forms of financing but little is made off the actual sales of the motorcycle. You "claw" back your profit through through Parts and Accessories Sales and Service and Repair.In most cases you need a major brand to get people walking in through the door.Its a tough way to make a living but never boring.

Yeah,sure,we all know dealers double their money on bike sales
The dealer where I get all my stuff and new bikes once told me that most people buy a new bike and want to have a few hundred or better in gear and accessories thrown in which would have him selling his units at a few hundred $$ loss each.
Tough way to make a living for sure.
