rm crankshaft

will a 2000 rm 250 crankshaft fit in a 99 rm 250? they have different part numbers but look the same. any input would help

According to http://www.powersportspro.com/pages/parts/viewbybrand/2/Yamaha.aspx it will work.

Look up your part # once, then enter it in their "Quick Part Lookup" and it'll list all models that use it.

In 2000 Suzuki reduced inertia in the crank by 5%. This basically balanced out the crankshaft for more power. I believe that is the only difference. The only noticable difference in the engine is that the piston in a '99 is a dome design and a '00 is flat top. I think 96-00 cranks are all interchangable.

i found 2 crankshafts on ebay that are around $200 but i didnt know if they would work but it looks like they will. thats better than paying $450 and the 2 on ebay are new
