Wow, that really sucks.  Brad Lackey and Bob Hannah just had the whole project to get him a nice wheelchair accessible van, too.  Magoo was the wildest of the wild - I don't think the word "fear" was in his vocabulary - huge loss...

Sad news, he was one of my favorites growing up. I remember being REALLY bummed when he had has his accident in '85.

Hey guys, On this day, I thought it appropriate to remember Danny for what he shared with all of us, his love of racing motorcycles.

This article was published in Racer X a few years back. It details the Motocross and Trophee des Nations races in 1982.

I can't believe this has happened.  Danny was one of those riders that just seemed invincible.  His riding was so crazy and daring that it just seemed like nothing was going to stop him for good.  Even when he was in his wheelchair, he pulled occasional wheelies.

Is this Maico a 440 or only a 400?  Well in all the confusion, I forgot myself.
But considering this is a 1978 Magnum, the best-handling bike in the world, you have to ask yourself one question.
Do you feel lucky, punk?

Hey there, been following this forum for quite awhile but haven't really had much to say but after seeing this I had to come on and leave a comment out of respect for Magoo, the guy was a true hero and will always be remembered for his achievements. I grew up and rode in No. California in the '70s and remember seeing and hearing about that crazy fast guy named Magoo and then him going big time... it'll never be the same  :(
aaahhhhh yes, I remember the good old days
