I know these were a b*tch to jet right, but I heard they were fantastic woods bikes. I guess I'll keep dreaming  ;D

Just get yourself a WR500. Big tank, wide ratio trans and a lighting coil for a fraction of the price. ;D

I have actually been searching for one. Can't find them anywhere near me unfortunately  :-X But I am looking at a project kx250 next, might be seeing a thread soon, if I can talk the price down a little.

From what I understood when I bought my WR500 the ratios were the same as the YZ (WR moniker not withstanding). And it was pretty close ratio. That said, I think the biggest advantage of the WR over the YZ was the updated suspension. The lighting coil was pretty wimpy too. That 3 gallon tank was nice. They do appear to be rare bikes these days. Never should have sold mine (I say that a lot about most of the bikes I have owned).

Yamaha also made the IT490 (maybe that one had the WR tranny - I forget :<img src=" title="Roll Eyes" class="smiley">).

I'd take the three grand and go buy a bike-unless you wanted a display bike-in which case that looks sweeeeeetttttt. 8)

I'd rather a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal lobotomy.

I was thinking rip it around until it tries to kill me, and then keep it in my living room. Maybe take it out a few times to the track and relive a near death experience? But either way I don't have 3 grand to throw at a vintage bike  ;D

If you can send me your bank details, I will not only deposit the 3 grand you want to buy that awsome bike but I will also send you another 10k so that you can buy the bike of your dreams.
Send me a private message with your bank details and I might be able to convince my Nigerian friends to send enough money to get one of those flash new Maico's. ;)

Sold my '89 490 to a friend for $500 after I bought an '81 IT465 for $500, regretted selling the 490 so I found an '87 490 for $500   ;D
