Tinted Goggles
« on: March 16, 2013, 04:30:27 AM »
Hey I was considering buying some goggles from http://www.ride100percent.com/ And I was just wondering if anyone here uses tinted goggles? I'm considering buying tinted for really sunny days. What tints do you use and what conditions are they good for? Right now I just have clear and some days it is so sunny out and the sun gets in your eyes and you can't see...

I wear silver mirror Ariete goggles in bright sunlight.
They take the glare out but are not too dark in the trees.
Awsome.
Check the rating of the lens.
Cat 2 is for bright sunlight.
Cat 1 for mixed sun/cloud
Cat 0 for cloudy days.

I have smoke tint, blue, yellow and a mirror lens, monochromatic or whatever. My favorite it the mirror. It is light thant the smoke but still cuts the glare. The blue and yellow are awesome for overcast or rainy days. I don't even think I have a clear lens except on my roll off goggles.

I have 4 different goggles, the are all in liners in my goggle case with at least one tear off on them always and YES I am OCD and embrace my condition. LOL

Haha ok I was thinking mirrored ones for sunny days? That would help keep the glare off, right?

I use bolle goggles tinted amber. I originally used them for skiing, and they did great keeping the glare down from the snow, so I figured I would try them on my MX helmet. They work nicely, I like them because my eyes adjust to the tint fairly quickly so you forget that your actually wearing tinted goggles.
