So many good quotes...

"I haven't has this much fun on a bike in a long time", "I wish they were more popular, so go buy one and support the MFG's that still make them"  "RC wants everyone to race arenacross before moving up, they should be racing the 125 to learn proper aggressive riding style."  "Riders moving up from an 85 should be on a 125", and the classic one, "I remember doing top ends in an hour for $50, you can't do that on a 4 stroke".

The rider rilled me up saying at 200 pounds he dare not race it. If that yz125 isnt enough for him, he's crazy. That rider was riding fast and bragging on that bike smilin from ear to ear and he does'nt want to ride that yz in competition. Nothing i'd like to race more than a killer 2s 125 on race day. That rider need's to watch his own video and if that does'nt convince him to buy a 125 nothing short of divine inspiration will. ME i was struck by 2s 125 lightening as a kid and it still runs through me.  KIM

He  seemed  pretty  excited   about  the   125   ride,  so  why   wouldn,t   ya   want  to race   one.   With  a   few   hours   on  the  125,  he   would   be   alot  faster   if   he   was   more   aggressive  every where.   He   would  be  in   much  better  shape   and   prob   drop   20  or   so   pounds.   And   feel   like  a    trim  racing   machine   himself,  instead   of   a    lazy   4-st  rider   with   man   boobs.

this. 250Fs are only getting faster while 125s stay planted in the 32-34 HP range off the floor. Yeah yeah I know races aren't decided by horsepower, but when you're exiting a corner with an angry 250F on your tail, horsepower helps a great deal.

I    know  a   local  rider  that,s   races  a   yz125  a little.   He   hits  Millville   once   a year   in   25   and   30 expert    and   wins   or   top 3   against    450,s   on   a    hilly  natioinal   horse power   track.   He,s   over   40   also,  and   doesn,t   race   millville   10  times   a year   like   the rest   of the gate   or   practice  there   twice   a month.   He    just   shows  up   and   hauls   on his   yz125.

That just means he is a better rider.
It is not the bike.

I'd say the bloke was giving thought to going up against a whippet like rider / riders, of the same ability. Or, just a tad less. A 120lb rider, that is almost as good a rider as a 200lb, sure as hell has an advantage over the bigger bloke. To cover all the bases - make the smaller rider fit and strong. No amount of extra rider 'strength', from being bigger, could help against the 'other' bloke.

Have a squizz at most MC racers that do well. Not very many, are 'man mountains', in any MC disciplines. Even in the day's of 500 2ts, where quite a few blokes in GPs were Big Blokes, little blokes could do very well on them - see Eric Geboers (and Leisk for Aussies) amongst Thorpe, Carla, Malherbe, Martens, Van Der Venn, etc, etc. Well, that was the era of Giants. DeCoster is not a big bloke, by any means, either.
