2006 CR250R Honda Keihin carb upgrade
« on: January 10, 2013, 06:04:17 PM »
I was hoping for some feedback from anyone with experience fitting a PWK airstriker to a late model CR250 (2006). I just ordered the JD kit (I have had great success running their needles) and will go with their baseline jetting specs. I ride at 2000=3000 above sea level for the most part and the motor is mostly stock with the exception of an FMF system and V-force reed. I have been running high test pump gas and Maxima Super M at 40:1. If anyone could provide feedback about installation, jetting, or any other issues it would be most appreciated. TIA.

We have a 2005 cr250 and we put a 38mm air strike carb on it and it made a world of diference. Ours came with a different throtle cable. We are at sea level jetting has been good we could use a leaner pilot jet but been to lazy to change. We are running a FMF gnarly pipe and V force reeds.

The mikuni is very erratic and hard to jet consistantly. Also the kiehn gives it more bottom end. My son said when we put it on that it ran like a new bike compared to the old carb.

Got the carb today and it came with several needles and main jets, if it ever stops snowing I will report my impressions of the carb swap
