We need to keep an official TSM Tally of every craigslist ad like this we see.  Anytime someone finds something like this, on Craigslist or even in the paper or hearing it from a friend or whatever, they tell John.  John then goes in and adds a tally to the counter.

It'd be interesting to see how fast the count goes up.  I think the main problem would be reporting - there's no way we'll find 'em all.  It's a thought, anyway.

Is this Maico a 440 or only a 400?  Well in all the confusion, I forgot myself.
But considering this is a 1978 Magnum, the best-handling bike in the world, you have to ask yourself one question.
Do you feel lucky, punk?

I'd say that 07 yz450f that has alot of aftermarket parts was probably blown up & any after market parts on that 4-stroke was neccesary to install just to keep it running so this person can trade it for a yz-250 or rm-250 2-stroke!!!!!!! :P

I am a regular on www.mainedirtbikes.com, and I see quite a few people looking to trade 4 strokes for 250 2 strokes.

Check this guy out. He traded his 06 CRF250X for an 03 CR125R. Sounds very happy about it. The guy in the video seems a little awkward, but not exeptionally so. I thought it was interesting how his video brought out such rage from some of the lawn-mower riders who compete with a displacement advantage.

I guess maybe it might bother me a little if I came in from polishing my new $8,000 Mower-Cross bike and saw a video like this where a guy happily traded for a 3 year older, smaller, 2 stroke bike and said it was better.

One of them was even raging on and on about how "His 450 could smoke this 125...." Well buddy... that's great... if you can beat a 125 with your 450... give yourself a pat on the ass... you deserve it! :D

2003 Honda CR 125
I think 4 stroke dirtbikes are a phase, kind of like "Glam Rock" in a way. You see the whole world subscribing to it, and you wonder how everyone could be choking down so much Kool Aid and Spam... Then 10 Years later, nothing's left but the timeless stuff from before and after..

At my local dealer there is a 2005 CRF450 for sale for $3,250. Fresh rebuild and lots of extras.
I am going to put my bone stock 2002 CR250 next to it for $3,000. and see how quick it sells.

I bet it goes in a week. Funny thing is I paid $2,900. for the 250 in 2004, And all I have done to it is two top ends and a few sets of tires.

Here in the Netherlands the same thing. Cheap second hand 4 strokes. If you can call them cheap.

I swapped an 06 YZ 450 for my 05 CR 250 plus cash. The guy i swapped with had it for sale two months later! It was still for sale two months after that for less than what he wanted for the CR!
Bottom line is ...................4 strokes suck arse!! I will never ever buy another :P
F**K THE WHALES......................SAVE THE 2 STROKE!!!!

The hardest part about riding a 4 stroke is telling your parents your Gay!!

Here is an idea, we have the tally thing, but every time we see one of these ads, we contact the seller, tell them about twostrokemotocross.com and ask if they will expain why they are switching back to the two stroke.
I'd rather be riding...

I second the motion.  Not only would it make a great testimonials section on the site, but it would raise awareness for this community and we may be able to reach more people.

I love the idea!!

But could use the help of those in the community already... would you two like to volunteer to help? Anyone else?

It could be set up so that you guys would have "access" to the site and add these new testimonials...  What do you think?
