1974 Yamaha TY 250a - Close Color Match to Toba Pearl
« on: December 15, 2012, 08:02:20 PM »
I just picked up a 1974 TY250a from a guy in his seventies. He said that he owned it since new and only rode it for one year, 1977. There is still a inspection sticker on it from then. I'm in the process of having the tank fixed due to rust eating the tank from the inside out. The bottom on both sides were leaking. There was a lot of corrosion on the shocks, wheels, spokes and hubs. I plan on restoring it but want to only clean up the original parts. I've had to get a new carb because the original was worn out. I'm having a tough time coming up with a paint that matches the Toba pearl used on the tank and fenders. I'm buying the compitition yellow from Colorite and want to use Colorite paint for the pearl. Does anyone know of any close match from another bike that would work that Colorite sells?

Thanks,

Kevin

Something automotive would probably be a close match.

If colorite doesn't have it, I don't know!
