Aftermarket Radiators what to do?
« on: October 24, 2012, 08:39:40 PM »
Hey guys i got some aftermarket supercool radiators from mylers and i was wondering what i should do about radiator guards. Mylers sells them for the bigger radiators but their over 200 bucks. Im wondering if anybody has tried using devol radiator guards. Or anything else please let me know. I need protection for my $260 radiators. This is for a 2007 cr125

The thing is those radiators will be destroyed my first moto. Im talking about protecting the radiators from rocks. The plastic stock fins dont work in these radiators so im asking people if the devol guards will work with these bigger ones?

You can make anything fit with a bit of time and some tools.
I made these braces for my tm when I couldn't buy any.

I am sure you can make Devols fit.

Try 1/4in armour plate? A bit of thin aluminium won't stop much anyway. The $130 set will last as long as a $500 set

I remember many years ago standing in Ted Devol's workshop in his backyard in Seattle when he was starting out. He makes nice stuff.

Thanks guy for the replys. The only reason why i need guards for these are so rocks dont hit the radiators. so Im calling motosport monday and gonna ask them to measure some devol radiator guards for me so i can see if the'll fit or not.
