Question for the California guys
« on: October 01, 2012, 01:52:02 AM »
I have a 1 year project brewing in CA for next year. If it happens I take the whole family for 1 year to CA. Most work is LA and south so I would like to put the family around LA outskirts. Concerns are schools (12 & 14 YO), rental price, good community, a place to keep our 39' toyhauler and of course riding areas. The kids love MX tracks but prefer not to race so open practice areas work best. Camping and trail ride places also a big plus. Will also need some Glamis advice. Want to check it out so do we do a drive by or camp and experience it? As for adult action at night the kids did survive Unaf**indilla but we still want to keep em sheltered for a while longer. FYI I will be totin my new yz125 and my oldest rides a 125 too. MX action is OK but 125 action is pure adrenaline. Keep on smokin!

I live in South LA county. Lots of good riding areas within 1-1.5 hour drive. I have been here for over 40 years. You are better off finding a home close to good schools 1st, work 2nd, and riding areas third. I live in Rowland Heights (blue ribbon schools).
Lots of good tracks in SoCal to, but I don't know much about that, I'm a hare and hound/desert rider.

The Bay Area is a good place to be as well, not in the suburban part but in the outskirts where there is more land and space. Plenty of schools here, Jobs almost anywhere, and there are tons of tracks here. I live just above Bay Area in Santa Rosa, and we have Petaluma track (10min), lots of trails up north (30 minute), and a TON of tracks in the bay area (1 1/2 - 4 hours).

Lets do it. 125 fever in our family right now. In 4 weeks I should know more about the project. I hope it all goes the same year so we can move out for one year. It will be a great way to check out everything on the other coast. Moto and otherwise.
