KTM Cylinder-Piston sizes.
« on: June 06, 2012, 09:55:27 PM »
Doe's anybody know which size piston i should be fitting to a size 1 cylinder?, As far as im aware cylinders come in 3 sizes, 1,2 and 3, its stamped on the skirt of the cylinder. Also pistons come as A,B and C.

Is it as follows?

1=C
2=B
3=A

or the other way round? 1=A, 2=B and 3=C? This would be the logical way but i have a feeling it's the other way round.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me? :(

Are you 100% on that? It's just i have a 250SX cylinder which is labelled a 3 and it has a 66.35 mm piston that came from it which is an A, Im asking as im doing the top end on my 300SX kit and the cylinder has a 1 on it and there's currently a C size piston in it!, from what i can gather it seems the other way round?

I assume you are given the dimensions for the piston sizes - couldn't a person measure the bore and go from there?
