What do you guys think ?
« on: April 26, 2012, 03:27:18 PM »
Lastnight I was at my local track riding practice night haveing a good time , bike felt great I felt great and had 2 awesome rides . At the end of the second practice were being waved off the track to exit and a 19yr old kid hits me wide open on a yamaha 250f . My bike cartwheeled then landed on my back with the rear wheel spinning due to the throttle being stuck wide open in 2nd gear . Once I realize whats going on my bike is wide open laying on the ground behind me so I crawled over and killed it . meanwhile  the kid is rolling around on the ground groaning so I get up and limp over to see if he's ok and he starts talking shit to me about me being in the wrong for being as far over on the exit side of the track and exiting as we were all supposed to be doing . Well long story short it almost ended up being a 20 person brawl  but luckily didnt .

My concern is the bike , The throttle cable housing got snapped and thats what caused it too tach out for 20 or so seconds . Should I tear the topend down after something like that? its probably only got 15-20 hrs on the current topend of mostly lite trail riding with my fiancee . What do you guys think ?

On a side not I will say I was blown away at the ignorance of the kid wanting to run his mouth instead of caring if the other guy (me) was ok after he blasted into me 100% at fault .

Thar sucks man... Is the throttle housing the only damage done to the bike? Or you for that matter? But, running wide open for 20 seconds shouldn't be an issue, but it wouldn't hurt to open it up and check, even if you just take the expansion chamber off and peek inside.

Suprisingly that and my new 2012 rmz450 front number plate being a little tweaked is all that happened to the bike . The bad part was that the impact from the kid hitting me was to the right side of my body so I'm limping around pretty good today and I have strawberries all over my right arm and leg , but the worse part is when the back wheel landed on my back it left a burn out mark on my lower back and all the way up my chest protector and helmet. I literally have starcross s4 tracks on my lower back  :<img src=" title="Roll Eyes" class="smiley">

Battle scars  ;D And I think there is a way to straighten out the plastic fender, but I'm not sure how. But the while stress marks in the plastic will stay...

The only piece of plastic that was damaged was the front number plate but I fixed it and now you cant even tell anything happened. Its amazing that my bike came out of it in as good of shape as it did . The kid that hit me had his left radiator all folded up afterwards so I was happy about that . I'm going back next thursday and I'm gonna have some fun with that kid , that and the fact that 3 or 4 guys I'm friends with are gonna be out to get him means I have to go . Gotta love good friends  ;D

On a good note I got to meet Tim Ferry lastnight , and his little 5 or 6 yr old son is crazy fast on his KTM50 .

Well that's good hahaha. At least the kid had to pay a little. But the important thing is no one got badly injured.

That sucks man!! did you hurt yourself?? Hope no!!

The kid got pissed of because your bike was laying on the ground working he figured that he had to kick his bike 127 times to start..

what a cock!!!! I dunno how you restrained yourself I would've kicked the shit out of him then crowbared his bike... he probably couldn't stop in time cos of all that four stroke flab. xandyx has a point too, maybe he was dreading the leg pump he was about to encounter just from kicking his bike up. I'd keep an eye on your brakes though, might need to check them when your practicing... ALOT. And always when hes behind you... Oh wait he'll only be behind you when you lap his arse 5 fold

Yeah no doubt . the kid had the nerve to call me a begginer and told me to ride with the right class  :<img src=" title="Roll Eyes" class="smiley">. I was just out play rideing and still only had like 6 or 7 guys pass me out of 25 or more and he wasnt one of them . I did have a whole shit pile of people telling me I had the best looking bike on the track though  :D. It's going to be interesting to see what happens to the kid next thursday . I didnt want to catch an assault charge and get kicked out of the track for effen him up so I was pulling a Ronnie move and telling him to come at me everytime he started running his mouth so it would be considered self defense but he stayed 30ft away  :<img src=" title="Roll Eyes" class="smiley">

the kid did ok because you kept it easy in that situation, if he had argued with another kind of person, he could had figured it with a couple os slaps..

Yeah kids these days... Even if they punch a random dude in the face down the street they'll deny they were in the wrong tooth and nail. Too arrogant to have the good graces to accept they were wrong. I mean if it had been me that had been hit and the kid had been something along the lines of: "Fuck dude are you okay? Man i'm so sorry I was in my zone and just didn't see the flag, god bro im so sorry. I'll pay for any damage done" Then hey whats the big issue? but no.... lets be a fag and stick to our guns. I miss the days when everyone at the local club knew everyone and loved riding with them. Honestly though, he is lucky it was you he smacked into not one of the alarmingly impatient people that are often at the track, I doubt he would've had a smart mouth for long if that was the case

I'd rather a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal lobotomy.
