Yeah bikes are made to be ridden even if its 25 yrs old . that yz looks better to me every time i look at these pictures . How tall is it compared to your cr125?

it's a little shorter than my cr, not by much though

she's alive!!!!!!!!

we cleaned the carb, drained the gas, and changed the plug, found out there is a slight crack in the gas tank about 1.5 inches long on top
put fresh gas in it cranked it a handful of times and she lit right up

although it is loud as FAWK! the silencer is obviously not stock, and it probably wasn't build for this bike as far as we can tell. so we're going to try to figure this out, we're gonna try to repack the makeshift silencer and see what that does, and if not, we'll have to find somethign else

but one thing we noticed, was that the exhaust didnt smell like our newer bikes did, even though we used the same gas and everything, it smelled different, idk if its just the age of the bike, maybe the silencer/exhaust on the inside aren't fresh like on our newer bikes or what, but it didn't smell sweet like our yz250 and cr125 smell, it smelled almost bitter/sour smelling? any ideas?

also idk if its just the exhaust but it seems like its hitting really hard, maybe its just bc the exhaust is loud and its more noticable or what, but it seems like its hitting hard, i guess that's pinging or detonating? pls give me your thoughts on this..

nvm the exhaust smell is from the old silencer, the oil/dirt/whatever else is in there doens't smell very good, which made the exhaust not smell like it should

but it is still pretty loud, loud for a 2 stroke that is, gonna be fun to annoy the hell out of the loudass stock 4 strokes at the track  :P :P :P

Awesome bike. Growing up there were two brothers that rode the same trails I did and they both YZ250's just like that. I have had a life long love of that era of YZ because of those bikes.
