Was at the news stand recently and two magazine covers (side by side!) grabbed my attention,first Dirt Bike magazine with an article about how 2Ts are once again dominating offroad events and second an ATV comparison in Dirt Wheels.
 
 In the first article most of the racers interviewed state that they are glad to be back on a 2T - I guess 30lbs of extra 4T flab just doesn't cut it any more.Nick Fahringer in particular comments about how on his first time out on a Husaberg 300 he wins the event overall.In the ATV comparison the editors are amazed that a 25 year old Suzuki LT500 can still blow the doors off it's modern 4T equivalent.Maybe,just maybe,the winds of change are a blowing. ::)

I also saw those covers. I even purchased a copy of Dirt Bike magazine just to read that article...  All the riders really seemed very enthusiastic about their 2 stroke steeds.  I didn't pick up a copy of the ATV mag, aa I knew there was no way anything was going to hang with quadzilla.

I really enjoyed the quadzilla vs ltz450 because they modded the hell out of the 450 including boreing it to 500cc's and it still couldnt keep up

harescramble and enduro events around here are invariably a sea of orange with just a sprinkling of 4 strokes mixed in. For most offroad events (north american pro mx excluded), 2 strokes are definitely the norm.

I normally don't buy Dirt Wheels magazines for the simple fact that I'm not a big fan of atv's in general but when I seen that article quadzilla vs the modern ltr-450 I just had to buy it because I love reading articles that involve 2-stroke versus 4-stroke & I knew having had a good friend that owned a bone stock Quadzilla & seeing him go straight up massive hillclimbs with ease as well as following him in a "78" trans am hitting speeds on a blacktop road in excess of 75 mph & barely being able to keep up with him there was no doubt in my mind that the Quadzilla would'nt have any problem beating the LTR-450 until like monsteryz125 said I started to read in the article that the LTR-450 had some major work done to it including being bored out to 500cc's & then I got just a tad bit worried that the bored out 450 with a stroker crank among other performance mods & a little over $3000.00 invested in the engine I knew that the Quadzilla had it's work cut out for it!!! But then as monsteryz125 stated they modded the hell out of the 450 including boring it to 500cc's and it still could'nt keep up! Chalk another win up for us 2-stroke fans....... :P  ;D  ;)  :)  :D  :o

Let's see them drop $3,000+ into that Quadzilla, and see how great it could be on top of already being better than it's 4 stroke counter part! Such a waste! I bet the Quadzilla motor in the LT-R's chassis would be sick. I'm not a huge fan of quads, but they can be fun, and I'll ride any two stroke machine! 8)

I remember watching a quadzilla race a bunch of  modern quads a few years back.He had the motor but not the handling.Even worse,he nosedived something horrible over the smallest jump,even leaning back and panic revving it. :o Sometimes old isn't better,it's just old-like myself :<img src=" title="Roll Eyes" class="smiley">
