Cool Aid
« on: September 19, 2011, 04:57:26 PM »
We are living in the days of mass marketing.
Do you belive in the hype, and do you drink energy drinks while riding.

I drink water while riding and will have a Powerade at the end of the day.

The only fizzy energy drink I have had is a Red Bull, And thats with Vodka. ;)

I think the results may be age appropriate.

50/50 gatorade/water combo.Full strength gatorade, powerade etc tend to trigger digestion and can often lead to cramping.Often when just trail riding or practice  it's just water. Many use pedialite around here as it's a baby type rehydration drink that's easy on the tum.I always found the 50/50 mix to be better than straight h20.It replaces much of what your body loses when riding hard-and keeps you going better than without it.
I've honestly never tried any of the "energy drinks".I get my caffeine through coffee. :)

I'd rather a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal lobotomy.

I drink water when I am riding or racing. I have never tried a tweek drink that I though tasted good enough to take a second drink of. I think they all taste like crap!

i do buy into the marketing:/.....i drink rockstar......funny enough not before riding, it makes me way to jittery. when riding i drink water and usually whatever hydration drink that is on sale. part of me thinks that the cans the pros drink out of are "dummies", and are actually filled with something way healthier than energy drinks.

I try to consume no energydrink crap, sometimes i do but not very often. And certainly not before, during or after riding, water and food to keep me hydrated and energised, thats it.

I try to drink water, but if anyone wants to try an old racing trick, PB&J and a 12oz coke work great before rides (Still drink water as well).

I ride an 03 yz250, wait 04, wait 05, what ever, they're all the same #$@% YOU!

When I ride I ONLY drink water...Gatorade usually after I'm done. No soda type drinks for atleast 12 hours before riding..I feel like I get arm pump 10x easier...but that's just me. I drink Mtn dew normally and if I drink an energy drink it's usually rockstar punch which is like once a week maybe.

The only "Energy" drink I have tried was Red Bull and although I like the support they have given to so many exciting and off the wall sports, I think it tastes like ass.

I never drink sodas (except as mixer)

I never drink water - straight.

For hydration I drink a 3:1 ratio of Pedialyte and bottled water.

The rest of the time I drink beer or coffee.

Remember kiddies..."Beer is not just for breakfast anymore!" and what the great American forefather Benjamin Franklin past on to us, "Beer is proof that god loves us and wants us to be happy."

VintageBlueSmoke that is a classic qoute. "Beer is not just for breakfast anymore!" and what the great American forefather Benjamin Franklin past on to us, "Beer is proof that god loves us and wants us to be happy."
