That quote is kinda messed up if you think about it.  A 2008 RM250 is as new as a 2012 YZ250.  Just sayin.

I wonder what the production numbers were for that year (08) of both the RM & YZ.
Maybe Suzuki misjudged the market and made too many. :-\
I would not have thought the YZ out sold the RM by a huge margin. But then again I have been wrong before. ;)

That is where you guys are getting confused. Suzuki didn't make 300 million too many bikes, its just that they didnt want to go to the trouble of designing new graphics every year and rebranding the bike as the next model, they just kept rolling them out exactly as they came off the production line in 2008. And because they look identical to the '08's, they are continuously called an 08. Yamaha are doing exactly the same thing, it is just that they go to the bother of designing new graphics and calling it the new model bike.

I was under the impression that the 08' RM was just that.
Built in 08' and been in a warehouse since.
So your saying they still build them ?

Lets hope they keep rolling em off the production line too!
Who knows maybe one day someone might accidently bolt a smoker engine into an RMZ chassis! Now that would be a sweet RM!

I thought they were just selling off old stock, did not know they were still manufacturing them.  Is this a proven fact, or just conjecture/story telling?
