KTM could easily field a 2 stroke rider for the complete season, both in Europe and USA.

It just shows that the 2 strokes are beiing belitteled to a side-show in this current media hype war.
As long as KTM doesn't field full-time 2 stroke riders for the entire season, wich they easily could,
they will keep bowing down to the mighty Japanese empire.

Altho it's nice to see more top riders using 2 strokes as practice bikes, or do a occasional race on a 2T,
but this doesn't really help us much if they use the 4 strokes again for the next race and/or season...

Unless they plan to use it fulltime next season, but i don't see that happen.
KTM and the big 4 Japs are too close with their agreements for something like that...

Ofcourse this is only my personal opinion, forgive me if i sound harsh,
i think it's a nice idea because it's irritating for the japs,
and now is also the right time for KTM to show their very potent 2 strokes.

I will try to watch that race!
It will be VERY interesting to see how they perform on factory 2 strokes!! :)

At first when I heard this I thought I hope they do real well on the 2 bangers but if they do well it doesn't do much for changing the displacement rules. It's kind of a two edge sword, part of me wants to see them smoke em on the 2 strokes but then if the newly crowned world champions only post average results its kind of a big F U in the face of the rule makers as this will be the best riders on factory 2 strokes instead of struggling privateers on privateer bikes.

These guys getting beaten on the 2 strokes could be what 2 stroke fans have been waiting for as Dar as a rule change but could also go the opposite way and "prove"  to the masses that 4 strokes really are the way to go

Either way I think this race will generate massive interest

I like both these riders and to se them on factory 2 strokes at a race would be cool.  I have to agree with the side show remark but thats not all tht bad is it.  Take this into consideration. The only thing thats going to keep and hopefully bring back the 2 stroke in some circles is going to be us the consumers. Just my opinion.

It's been quite a while since the last full-factory build 2 stroke entry in the GP's.
Cairoli and Rockzen both have good skill.
They could both make a top 10 finish, but if they both do really good,
there's a realistic chance that there won't be a need for any rule changes towards 2 strokes... :-\

It will be interesting to see how they go.
Roczen on a 125 wont have much of a chance but Cairoli on a 250 will be closer to the front.
I think. :-\

I hope for the sports wellbeing they are not too good.

Which may not be such a bad thing. Imagine if they do well, KTM could consider putting in a two stroke team into the world GP's, and maybe slowly would get more people considering two strokes as their next ride. If such an effort could be made in the states, then we would start to see some more change.

Yes Swapper, I think i get your point.
You must mean that when they both do great, it will show that 4 stroke is still not superior,
after all those years of negative 2T propaganda and even with twice the displacement less...
Maybe then, more people will realize it, and see more 2 stroke buyers and/or raceteams coming!  :D
I want to see this race!  :)

There has been talk on vital of roczen not riding the 125 as they can't get the suspension set up right. Will be awesome to see toni on the 250 tho. With the hp available in the new ktms it could give the 4 strokes a run for their money.

Also if you can't get the live feed the races will appear on the pirate bay. Just have to stay off Tue forums until you download it to avoid the spoilers
