YZ250 Help thread lol "Pics"
« on: July 13, 2011, 12:34:49 PM »
Well as some of you know I picked up a 03 yz250 and it needs a rear tire. So which one? The terrain I will be riding will vary from hard pack to soft silt, and maybe some track riding. I was looking at great deal on maxxis it's, but after reading on the web for bit everyone hates them for anything other than goat trails.

Millville K771 or Michelin S12XC.

I have run the Millville K771 on Zach's last two bikes. Pa trails are loaded with rocks and they hold up well. I like them because the terrain varies from mud, clay, soft dirt, hard pack, roots, and rocks. Other than the cheapo trials tire I have my my KDX (I like it more), the Millville tires have worked just as well as any other knobby I have used the last few years.

As much as I hate to agree with TMKIWI  :P, another vote for the S12.
I'd rather a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal lobotomy.

Thanks for the replies I ended up with a Michelin Starcross MH3.  ;D
So next thing on my list of $h!t to do is plastics, do I go O.E.M. or some aftermarket brand(Acerbis, Cyrca, polisport, etc.)? After that I'll be almost done with the bike, and I won't be embarrassed to post detailed pics  ;D

The rear fender is actually broken under the seat, and the front looks like it went through a garbage disposal.

How freaking light was the guy you bought it off of that he had the shock set like that?  :D

Looks good man. I know you had a bad experience with your Tusk clutch, but RMATV had good prices on plastic, comparable to what I found on ebay for Zach's RM.

Looks good.An '05 front fender fits perfect and looks better imo.
