Help. question about '05 new bike

Hiiii everyone!!

its my first time posting over here but ive been reading this forum for a long time!

im from spain and i was a owner of a crf 250 4t. had to sell it because in one year and a half had to change 2 times valves, distribuition chain,piston... a lot of money.
now im back to mx!
i need help please i have many questions.

there is a good good deal in a yamaha shop here in spain!

there is a yz 250 2stroke of 2005 that has never been sold,never used or nothing.
just been there for all these years siting waiting for someone to buy it.
the dealer is giving me a very good offer.

the questions are that its been there for so many years without using. he told me that there is no oil or liquids inside so it should be fine!

will it be rusty inside¿? in the cilinder, gear box etc...

will i have problems with that bike. maybe something broken for all these years?

have i got to change the suspension oil and lubricate everything on the bike?

the bike has been there without a stand. its leaning on the triangle.
will i have problems with the suspensions?

please help me and give me tips.
im not very confident on buying it, but if there is no problems for so many years sitting there ill get it!

The dealer will service it for you, don't worry!  Get it and you will be happy.  Think about the bikes that sit for 20+ years in a barn and after a tuneup start right up.  Your YZ has been in an air conditioned shop, and will likely still have a warranty based on the fact that it is brand new.  I bought a brand new 2009 Husky WR250 that sat at a dealer for almost 3 years.  No problems at all.

It entirely depends on where it was stored.If in a spot with big temperature variations it may have some condensation issues.On the other hand,unless it's been stored outside,I'd go for it if the price was right and the dealer would fix any issues that immediately occured due to the storage.

thank you very much for the replys.

the bike used to be in the inside of the shop were no natural light hit it.
but a few years ago the changed it and put it on display next to a big window so people can see it from the outside. so it has direct hit of the sun but its still cool in the inside and here where i live in the paradise(canary islands ) temperature dont vary so much the lowest is 17ºc and the highest 26ºc.

should there be condesation issues?

aww it looks so nice! cant wait to hear her screaming on my local dirt track.

motul 800 off road racing is it a good oil? is that the one that got that good smell?

If I were you, I would buy it. Then put fresh fluids in it (suspension and everything) and repack the linkage.... OEM's just use enough grease to get it off the showroom floor. Check for any other things you may want to re-grease and let her rip

Indeed, just go for it!
The dealer , or yourself, could re-grease the most vital parts of the bike.

x2 to what ACMX said. Yamaha's all need to be re-greased upon delivery. They are only greased for assembly. Don't trust the dealer to do it for you. Otherwise it is probably a good deal.

hey thank you all very very much. you guys help a lot!
the article of the changes from 2005 to 2011 is very good.
with little money i could make this 05 better than the 2011.
first thing its suspensions.
but first is buying the bike. i think in ten days i can buy it!
i promise to post picks of the bike and a little video on youtube with a walkaround and the engine runing

Go for it quickly.  I got 2 new 08 RM 250s that were sitting completely unloved in a very hot and dusty warehouse for over 2 years (in crate).  I assembled, checked fluids, gassed them up with premix and they both started in about 3 kicks... can't beat a 2T dude!

yes i would like to do the work by myself. never trust mechanics we say here!
 i need a few how-to videos or photos explaining how to dismount the rear linkage and change the oil from the forks. also setting the sag. and basic things to do to a new bike.

just cant wait all this time to get it.

ill do a bit of soft enduro for the first days without reving it out like a beast. just for reliabilty.
 what do you think?
