riding tips for a newbie

Hello there! i started riding motocross this year in april.The last time i rode a dirtbike before that was 6-7 years ago on a 93 yz 125 on a straight field with street clothes on so i dont have alot of experience.

Started this year on a 05 yz 250! its super fun and challanging And i feel i have learned alot of the basics
of riding techniques.and i slowly progress with my riding.

But im asking for any tips. i have read alot of tips on the internett but its pretty much the same tips.small things that make a difference. also is there big difference in lines to take on a 250 2 stroke contra 4 stroke? things like that.Any tips to help out a newbie

Two stroke specific tips? Keep your momentum up, try to keep a finger on the clutch cause you will probably need it. be natural on the bike. If you go front end high, pull the clutch for a moment and tap the rear brake. If you go nose down ring it out. Grip with your legs. Try keeping in the middle of the seat. Stand up, all the way into a corner and sit when you enter. Basic stuff

Everything ACMX said + keep your elbows up and look far ahead, and never hold your breathe because you will get tired faster by doing that. My opinion is to first learn the right technique and positions on the bike and then start building your speed up!

A motocross school will instill good habits before you develop bad ones and have to break them. Much of it is VERY basic but you'd be surprised how they improve even the best riders. It is proven that to lower your lap times, it Is a lot cheaper to improve yourself than your machine.

technique is most important, getting bad habits like sitting a lot and not riding with fingers on the brake and clutch will make you slow no matter what bike you ride.
