yeh i was running 10th at a state round and they black flagged me on the second last lap coz i was wearing a helmet cam.

you gotta take it through scruitineering, or just ask some one important if you can wear it.

There could be a couple reason's:
1. There is a possibility that the point of the camera could push through the helmet on impact(or so they say.) This could be fixed by mounting it on the bill of the helmet or to the bike.
2. It is easier to have a lawsuit against the track if you have video footage.
3. They're just assholes.  
I think the problem was that people were drilling holes in their helmet to mount the HC, but it shouldn't be a problem when you use Velcro or a suction cup.

I think your right with number 3  , but after checking the rule book for that organisiation it specifcally states that helmet cam's arent allowed, but i usually ride with other organisations, it seems some rules are thought up by people in offices wearing suits, rather than people interested in racing...

you got it, but there are several other organisations running ametuer events in england, and as far as I know helmet cams are legal in their races...

In Germany, also more and more tracks are banning the on-board camera or filming devices...
Because of danger for flying pieces in the air.
And some say it's to protect other people's privacy.
You should make inquiries first, before you take any camera to a German track...

Maybe they are right guys. Maybe IT IS dangerous. Oh no... Now that I think about it, this really makes sense. We need to get rid of all the dangerous things. No more tear offs, those may stick to you. Visors too, those could fly off, hit you in the arm, and be quite annoying! No number plates or plastic either it breaks off too easily. We need to switch to metal fenders. But what if those break off? We just need to get rid of fenders all together. The chain could break off... We also need to switch to a system of belts and pulleys to control the drive. Who cares if the riders are flying at 50 mph over 65 ft triples? They are wearing helmet cameras!

If they're THAT worried about safety, they ought not to be at a motocross track.  It's that simple.  Take up crochet instead.

they should forget about cameras ans care about guys that ride 4 strokes... it can break a valve and spit it from the exhaust..

those guys allways complain about something..jeez!
