Best way to build up leg muscles ?

I was thinking this morning now that I am injured and cannot ride I should try and stay fit.
I thought an exercycle might be the way to go to build up my leg muscles.
Then I remembered my last ride and what 1 guy was doing for exercise.
What do you guys think ? Should I get 1 of these.

Any form of biking, if you only want to focus on your legs try a road bike or fixed gear.

Oh that machine does build leg muscle but unfortunately it teaches you poor habits :(

I have three MTBs and a Paramount road bike as well. They are OK but not even close to as much fun as a good BMX cruiser! There is nothing as good for practicing good MX habits as riding a BMX bike. I love thrashing a good soft berm with my Quadangle. It is as much fun as a thrashing berms on a motorcycle.

Biking's fun but best way to build muscle and strength is lifting weights. Back squats to be exact, for your legs.

Okay, I have never been to a gym in my life yet I can leg press 1000lbs+. All from biking. ;D On my fixed gear I run 52t 16t gear ratio, and my friend was running 52t 13t before he spun the cog on the hub.

I swear by my mountain bike.A 5k ride per night time permitting made me able to stand almost indefinitely.Maybe not outright strength but it seems to suit the riding muscles.My loop is both up and down hills of various size.A stationary bike would help but it's sooooooo boring.

How do you know you can leg press that much if you've never been to a gym, and i can guarantee you that if you put the same time and effort into weight training as you do to riding your bike you'd be even stronger.
I'm not knocking cycling at all it's great excercise but if your goal is to build leg muscles then there's no faster way to do it than correct weight training
