I got around to installing those clamps, inserts, bars, and grips. I am going to do the handguards today as the 1-1/8" inner clamps finally came in.

I spent about an hour outside and got my nephew Zach's RM125 engine 1/2 done. I already had the disassembly, cleaning, painting, etc. done before today. I need to do the clutch side assembly now. Either later today or tomorrow I will get back on it and finish it up.

Before:

Clean power valves:

Cases together:

Top end, stator, flywheel, and V-Force on:

Holy smokes!! Did you soda blast it??
If a pair of 2" brass balls isn't working, I doubt that the 3" model will make much difference.

I had a friend of a friend soda blast the cylinder and I painted cases (they were still dingy/stained after the blasting) and then also the black parts are painted obviously. I generally avoid painting engines as they chip/scratch pretty quickly but I wanted it to look nice for awhile anyway LOL. It came out pretty nice considering how it started. I wish I would have had the guy do the carb too. I definitely need to invest in some sand/media blasting equipment.

Edit: I used hi-temp engine paint and ONLY painted the outside surfaces. I taped everything else off, including inside the intake.

Re: What have you done to your bike lately.

I walked past my bike this morning and kicked the front tyre to see if it was still up.
Still waiting on an operation so thats as close to my bike as I am gunna get. :'(
I have new tyres to fit but just don't see the point if I can't ride it.

And it was actually in preetty good shape. Parts ordered and as soon as there is room in the car-hole (brother is painting a car), she'll be smoking again! Pics when shes done! Peace! :D

Let's kick this thread back up, or are you guys not doing anything to your bike during the season?  :P

I bought some new pieces for my 03 KTM, took the frame and spring of the shock to get it coated in RAL2009 and had the suspension fully revised.

Now i just have to wait for the coater so i can start rebuilding the damn thing. (and go ride)
