Broken Scaphoid
« on: March 22, 2011, 08:53:27 PM »
Gone and put myself out of action for awhile.
Came off in the weekend and broke my Scaphoid in the same hand I sprained 6 weeks ago. :'(
It's my right hand & I am right handed.
Had to ride the last 10km back to the car. Fuck did it hurt.
Now I am going to have to cut the cast off on  Friday as I am flying in to the bush for our hunting trip on Saturday. :-X
Was going in to get the cast off on Tuesday but will still be up bush and they can't get me in for the rest of the week.
Bloody hospitals. >:(
There is no way I am missing the trip but wont know how sore it we be until I cut the cast off.
I will have to make some kind of brace that will support it and still allow me to hold my gun.
If you don't fall off you are not going hard enough

Cripes, that sucks.I broke my right arm once. It's surprising how hard it is to do basic things sometimes with your off hand-like eating or wiping your arse :D Good luck on the trip :)
I'd rather a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal lobotomy.

Holding it won't be the problem, the repercussions of firing it on the other hand......no pun intended
If a pair of 2" brass balls isn't working, I doubt that the 3" model will make much difference.

I'd be careful about cutting that cast off. When these things don't heal properly and a person then needs bone graphs etc. things start to get real scary real fast.Happened to a couple of people I know. :-X

That sucks dude, get your hand healed up right. I never broke that bone, so I don,t know much about it, might be a good idea to let bambi live another year and skip the trip.

Just got back from the doctors who have cut the cast so I can take it off.
The hand feels pretty good actually but have put the cast back on for safety's sake.
Should be allright i will try and leave it on most of the time & I dont plan on doing anything stupid.
Thanks for the good wishes but I'll be allright walking in the bush.
Have allready said to my mate that Ill be camp bitch and he has to do all the work. :D
Don't think I'll be riding for awhile thats for sure as I need to get some strenght back into the wrist.
Now I just need Bambi to come to Daddy. ;D
