Have you tried the CR Hi bend? they are by far the most comfortable bend I have tried. I use a narrow version of that bend for woods riding, it is commonly known as the KX80 bend, or from Moose racing , the Burleson bend. It is identical to the CR hi but 29 inches wide.

If a pair of 2" brass balls isn't working, I doubt that the 3" model will make much difference.

I guess an RM-Z front fender will fit, but why would you want it too look like a thumper...
It's still goes good in comparison to the new bikes.
But yea, if you do some good mods to your bike, like some already mentioned, you will ride it with
equal enthousiasm as you would with a new bike. There's not much wrong with an RM250.
A great bike in it's class. Oh, and i think Suzuki lowered the seat height with 5mm by 2005,
and the footpegs placed 1cm. more to the back. And some wave disc rotors.
That's all that has changed,plus the things in my previous post.

Nice RM250 there alot of fun to ride. The later rm 250,s if I remember right  had more lowend, they tried to make it easier to ride-less explosive, they had less top end  all so. For better clutch action riders  rounded the ends more, on the clutch push rod, after market basket and stuff. You might want to get a rg3 4 rubber mount tripple clamp,with pro tapers-the bars flex, so if you have something wrong on your upper body, the impacts are lessed. I  run a higher and farther forward rg3 clamp,with windham bend, but I,m kinda tall. I  got a rg3 clamp for a cr125 last year, I bartered with them and got  over 200 bucks off.

Welcome sideways.  Yeah that's a nice RM you've got there. Now if you just paint it green and call it a KX it would be perfect.  :P ;D

X2,CR highs are my favorite and I cut them down to 29.5 inches.
I'd keep the bike you've got,nothing else out there handles like an RM.I had to laugh when I read your post though.Only a biker would be laid up from a bike related injury and be using to time to decide on a new one-lol.

Personally I like the rm 250 plastic, not really keen on the newer F model front fender designs. I was thinking about putting the new KXF front fender and # plate on my KX but the more I look at it the more goofy looking it is.

Case 1.  When the EMT's were loading me in the ambulance last time I guess I kept asking how the bike was(don't remember)
My buddy that was helping said one of the emt's said-"you know,they always ask about their bikes but I've never been to a car accident where someone asks about their car"

Case 2. When the same buddy broke his neck in a riding accident,I dropped of all the issues of the latest dirt bike mags at his mother in laws place before I went to work as she was heading up to the hospital that morning.She looked at me like I was a retard and said-"he won't want anything to do with those stupid things now" Sure he will,I told her-just give them to him.She did...and he did.

It seems to be a common theme-or mental deficiency. :-\

Looking solid ACMX, track looks great too. I wish I had a set of whoops like that to ride, my local track had whoops they took them out :(. Whoops and corners are my favorite, the great thing about whoops are that you can try so many technics thru them and progress. When no ones riding I ride the whoops forward and backward, my 04 is valved for clay whoops, the forks are right on, the shock is a little off, I don,t like the shock to rebound quickly, I like the shock to feel slower rebounding. If I jump 4 whoops in I want the shock rebounding slow, so I can skim the whoops instead of the shock kicking the wheel up and loosing my drive to skim them.
