Does anyone else have a direction preference when cornering?  I can take a left hand corner consistently a gear higher than right handers, I have no idea why.  I just feel way more confident leaning the bike to the left than the right (totally opposite from my political leanings!!)  Still, I doubt even going counter-clockwise I could be close to that rider, but it sure would be fun to try!!!

MXLord, it'd because the throttle is on the right. The throttle can cause your elbow to go down, making it more difficult to turn right. I'm much more confident in left handers as well.

It is also because of the rear brake being on the right. A lot of people sub-conciously rest their foot on the rear brake while cornering or even rub it to control the traction feel and you cant do that when cornering to the right. You just gotta get comfortable and do it!

Kudos.  That is exactly it.  You will hear this time & time again in MX & off road schools.  Has nothing to do with the throttle.  And to do the drill in the video properly you would do an equal amount of revolutions in each direction.  When I teach I set up a figure 8 for this type of exercise.  Saves time & teaches the transitions at the same time.  Also, an advanced rider will LIGHTLY keep pressure on the front brake through the apex of the turn.  This will help weight the front tire for more grip/traction & better cornering.  Actually helping you keep your speed up.  It takes a lot of practice to perfect this technique.  Try it.  And have fun.
2 strokes & mullets forever

BERG DUECE!!!! HELL YEAH!!!!
If a pair of 2" brass balls isn't working, I doubt that the 3" model will make much difference.

He drags his bars on Any side, and on Any type of bike, be it 2t or 4t.

Geoff is one of most amazing 'cornerers' you'll ever see. To be on the same special test track, think you're doing well with a turn, only to ride back to a few corners and see him just destroying them, is something to see.  Very, very humbling. He's done very well here in OZ, and comes from a completely committed dirt bike family, his brother and dad race (Rick does the Six Day, and he- Rick- and his wife, Lynne, are tireless workers / organisers for their club, national events and the OZ Six Day efforts).

Wonderful people.

Cool pic Watson but it brings back unpleasant memories of doing the same thing on my RM-until my heel caught a rock and dislocated my left hip.Being by myself,it also brings back unpleasant memories of eventually getting upright and trying to slam the bike in to it to pop it back in place so I could get home.I think I'll leave that stuff to the young guys :)
I'd rather a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal lobotomy.
