i had a blast. that new 01 just ripped. like i said the guy i got it from was a collector. the bike had maybe 2-3 hrs on it total. i just had the suspension re-valved and sprung, i stripped the entire bike down and lubed everything, put in steel clutch plates and a magura. omg that is my first magura and it is worth every penny!!! did a few other things like renthol twin walls, tag 51 rear and a rk gold chain. the motor was so tight it felt brand new. the bike just ripped. i rode it hard yesterday, 4 30 min motos on it and rode my normal practice and it was a blast. this is my 3rd 01 cr 250 so im used to the bike but i had never set one up to moto it. the overall feel of the bike on the track is definetly out dated for a use of words. the ergaomics just cant compair to a newer crf frame and tripple clamps, its really stiff. but its so fun. every corner i was smiling. it has me thinking that i want to go back to the 250 class now and my bike of choice would have to be a SH CR 250. the fact that they are building this bike with the 01 motor has me thinking. its just a 10k + dirt bike just to get started is the only draw back.
