TSM Fund-Raising
« on: January 11, 2011, 09:27:26 AM »
Hey Guys,
I have been looking into raising some funds for TSM.
Funds would cover, advertising, sponsorships, equipment for covering live races, etc.

Any Ideas are welcome, and appreciated.
I hate to ask for help, without offering something.
An idea I had was to offer my YZ as a prize. Maybe take the 10 highest donor names, and 'pick a name' to be the winner of my YZ?
Any other idea's or help would be greatly appreciated.
I have put a 'donate' button on the sponsor page.

I hear crickets chirping...... :D
Not a bad idea but I like the idea or paraphernalia- the T's,stickers and maybe coffee mugs, key chains-stuff like that.Big ticket giveaways are good but you're stuck if donations are minimal.
I'd rather a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal lobotomy.

Thanks to the guys who stepped up immeadiately. :)

The goal is to put TSM in the publics eyes, which is very hard to do alone.
I have already given away all the T's except for a few Small's.
New shirts, stickers, hats etc. will be coming in March-ish, or sooner if we get the budget where it needs to be.

Thanks for the support guys!

Perhaps you could take it a bit further.  Are you really going to raffle off your YZ?  My thought would be to perhaps put up a prize like you said, could be your YZ or whatever.  Then say that you are accepting donations and every donation of say $20 enters you a chance to win.  So, instead of only the top 10 in the raffle, it is everyone who donated at least $20 and those who donated say $40 have 2 chances to win.  Something like that.

If you did decide to do this and whatever you wanted to auction off (YZ or something) I could make a video of this event, just need to provide me with some stills and videos of what you're putting up for the raffle.  The video would just state that these donations are for putting two strokes back in racing, etc. and then ont he back end, if you donate $20 (or number of your choosing) or more every multiple of that number gives you 1 chance to win XYZ on so and so date (obviously, not next week want to have the exposure around for at least a few months). Winner(s if multiple prizes, maybe can of oil for 2nd place or something I don't know) will be announced on the front page of twostrokemotocross.

Thats what I was going for, there are just some legalities involved. :)

I can't raffle, but I can accept donations, and give a prize.

I would be all for giving the YZ as a prize, I'm just trying to get it done properly. :)

Also, you would have to come up with shipping information, I mean shipping the YZ could be expensive.

To add to that you could also state something like "Every bid of $10 or more (or whatever) will also gets a free 2TMX sticker, limit 1 per person".

ya, I was wondering what the legalities of the raffel would be even if you stated it as a donation.

Look into the legal aspects of a raffle. I used to belong to dirtrider.net (not the magazine) and the owner raffled off his KX310 once and had to get permits to do it legally.

Yeah thats what I have been looking into.. it's a bit complicated.

As for shipping, I can get it most places in the US for $450ish.
