Maico 250...NOT MINE
« on: January 03, 2011, 08:33:59 AM »
I saw this on my local c'list and thought maybe someone here might be interested. It is not mine and don't know the seller:

http://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/mcy/2141122945.html

"I have a 1978 Maico 250 bike for restoration. The bike runs and shifts throught the gears with out any issues. The brakes and suspension also work fine with out any leaks. The following items are missing left foot peg, kicker side panels, and grips. The two following items will need replaced or fixed, the kicker shaft and the head pipe. This bike is beening offered as a bike to restore and it wouldn't take much to do. Give me a call at 724-454-0670 and ask for Rick. $950"

Years ago a friend of mine and myself bought a basket case 78 Maico 250 and an 81 490. I restored the 78 and my friend rides it in poker runs and other fun events and really enjoys riding the old scoot (he also has an 06 Husky WR250).

Somebody should snap it up.By the sounds of what's fallen off,it's only been ridden once :P
I'd rather a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal lobotomy.

All kidding aside, vintage Maicos are excellent investments that have fared particularly well in this economic downturn. ;)
