Still waiting....
« on: September 29, 2010, 11:21:46 AM »
Well after my last ride and blowing of my crank seals my trusty steed still sits in the garage waiting for the TLC it so richley deserves. It's not that I've wanted to wait on repairs its just that life often times get in the way. You know sometimes the things that have to get done out weight the things you want to do. Business has been slow very slow in fact so my time is spent doing work instead of the fun stuff. I haven't left my bike in despair all alone at least once a day I'll go to her, twist the throttle a bit and wispher encouragment of better things to come. Yes, I wispher so the Mrs. cajun does not here me.  Oh well. Life goes on for the everyday MX luvin Joe.

It definitely sucks to have a broke bike and a broke bank account. I've been there too many times to mention. Hang in there, things will pick up!

You should be able to change your own avatar. It's in your profile, under "Forum Profile Information" .

I uploaded a KX250 photo for you... I hope you like it...

There was a problem with one of the directories, which is now fixed. If anyone else would like to upload your own avatar, it should work now.

I am also in the same boat with my atc250r, needs a total rebuild. this will cost me between $800-$1600 if not more. If I want to throw a aftermarket cylinder on there add another $500-$1200 on there.  :o I just want a dirt bike now..   Does your bike just need seals?

Its both sides. Blew one in session one blew the second in session two. Yeah its not that expensive. I mean the parts are cheap enough but the time and labor to crack the cases is whats bogging me down here. I don't have the time or space or I would have it done long before now. I'm also struggling with geting other things done like the top end while I have it apart. Seems senseless not to have all the work done while its down instead of having to go back and do basically the same things over again.

I thought the seals where on the out side of the crank...at least thats how it is on my 250r cases which are sitting less the 2 feet away from me.

Not in my case factoryx. The cases have to be split.  Trust me I wish it was the other way.
