Going riding next weekend switching oils???
« on: August 25, 2010, 08:20:04 PM »
Hey guys, I've got another question. I ran out of the bel-Ray h1r and am taking my new yz250 out for the first time next weekend. It still hasn't been rejetted. I plan to do that after I finally get to have some fun on it. But my question can I switch over to maxima castor 927 without any problems for the weekend??? I mixed the bel-Ray 40:1 and plan to mix the maxima 32:1... Thanks guys.

Yes gas can will be is empty and flushed with straight gas and poured out. As for the bike. All the old gas will be drained outta the tank and the stuff in the carby burned.

No problem.
It's a good idea to stick to 1 brand of oil if you can.
If you are going to use maxima tune your bike to suit.
If you don't fall off you are not going hard enough

1st things 1st... have some fun on the bike, get it dirty...  After that there will be time to worry about rejetting.  As others have said, pick an oil a mix ratio and jet to it.  Select an oil that's readily available to you, as switching now is your best option.  You need to run a few tanks through before rejetting.  After you've run it and know what its doing, then you'll know what direction the rejetting needs to go.

Just get ready for you face muscles to hurt from the big sheepish grin your going to have...   :P 8) :D
