Any Washingtonians wanna give me a ride to PA next year? :)
Would a next door Canadian work? I may go next year with a couple friends

Absolutely, I live in a town called Port Angeles, its actually the biggest town on the peninsula (go figure we call it PA for short) and here we can actually look out over the bluffs and see the British Columbia island Vancouver. So I can literally look out the back window of my house and see Canada!  :P

Haha, I know where Port Angeles is, I go through Washington quite often through to Oregon. Do you ever come across the border to try out any motocross tracks?

That,s great news it,s about time a track steps up. With over a year to plan, setting up a contract with a national bike hauler, to get riders from other states would be a good idea. Because alot of racers race transporters,pu,s,van,s,etc., are a little junky, and would never make the journey into the rugged eastcoast. You could arrange pickup points,at a track near an inerstate, riders drive there unload bikes, etc., and get loaded into a semi. That way the multi pickup fee,the truck would charge wouldn,t apply. On a non race weekend a track would go along with this, for a 10.00 parking fee. Then riders board a motor coach-bus,and haul azz to your track. Have an open practise day before the race. The riders would stay at a local motel. It would be a fun trip for riders, a large hospitality tent would have to be at the track. This plan would get alot of riders from the midwest and the south east, because the drive wouldn,t be that long.

No, I have not, I was just simply wondering if you have. But riding on some tracks in Washington is definitely on my to do list.

A few words about the 1st annual two-stroke nationwide race.
My name is Jere Swarr , Promoter of Sleepy Hollow. As posted  we have started plans for a 2 stroke only event Sept. 2011 Hopefully the w/end of 17-18th
I envision a fun weekend for 2 stroke diehards. Some racing , both real and bench, NO FOURSTROKE motorcycles all weekend! Any 2 stroke from a 65 husky to an 2011 KTM     welcome. Race classes for everybody.Hopefully the smell of race gas and bean oil will linger in the Hollow all weekend, just like the Nationals in the 70's.  We are just getting started, it is over a year off, but reception has been good and we are excited. Personally I've been around MX since  72, Raced from '74-'78. Had a private track since '73 bought Sleepy Hollow in 2002. Yes,I wasn't born yesterday.
Track website is www.sleepymx.com. the track is Vintage freindly, with natural terrain and good dirt.  You can check videos on You Tube. just use "Sleepy Hollow Motocross" as a search phrase.    Thanks everybody for your interest. Stay Tuned

Jere... first welcome to the forum!!

I have raced at Sleepy Hollow before, although it's been a while (1980!) it was a cool track back then and I'm sure that with your experience it's an even better track now.

Please let me know what I can do to help promote this event. While it's still a year away, we can continue to get folks excited about the event. Plus of course I'll come out for the event to cover it for Two Stroke Motocross.

I will contact you so we can begin a dialog and get some real interest built up for this event.
Life is short.

Smile while you still have teeth!

Is there anyway we can secure the use of machines, either renting from dealers, teams or personally loaning them ?

I would like to bring two guys who race 125's, we would need a YZ and a KTM ideally. We could bring our cylinders and stuff like that, but trying to get bikes back and fourth would make it a non-event for us.

Both guys have won National titles and would love to mix it up a touch out in the USA
If it aint broke, fix it till it is

I have a friend here in Pa who can haul up to 24 dirt bikes. He has a double deck "stacker" coupled with a huge motorhome. He hauls bikes to wherever. People fly in, are picked up and taken to the riding area, and there ready to go our their own bikes and gear. I have been on three trips, they are amazing.  He goes to California, Colorado, Arizonia, Daytona, sturgis, basically anywhere. This may offer some possiblities for transportation to Sleepy. Check his website; www.tralridewith.us
He actually is a major Sponsor of Sleepy Hollow and has been around bikes,, well since birth.  He also owns a Honda dealership. We have a couple long time KTM dealers in the area. We  also have a Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki dealer 10 minutes from the track who is into MX and dirt in general.

Hey Jere,

Were you directly replying to 125MX in your last post? He runs the 2 stroke series in the UK, and is keen to bring in some international riders to mix things up. This would really add another dimension. A two stroke race with the best the world has to offer. Take the event to another level. We need to make this happen. This event is gathering momentum by the minute, and is still a year away.

   To 125mx,
I had no idea we were garnering international interest. I am flattered.
It's over a year away and anything is possible. Who's to say we can't get some bikes.
If there is a will, there is a way.

Hello guys,
this is my first post here. I just wanted to say that I'm really excited to hear about this event. If I can gather a few people to make the trip and represent Canada, I'll be there for sure!

I work at MotocrossQuebec.ca, and am the one who organized the TwoStroke Fest back in June (you can see a recap of the event on the TSM front page). If you need help promoting the event north of the border, let me know, I'll post up your PRs.

125MX is involved COOL, any thought of making a series. Millville has a 9 rd. super series,Red Bud has local races on the pro track,SunsetRidge, south of RockFord, is a great flowing track, the owner helped Red Bud track and learned alot about track prep,Mt.Carroll is close to Rockord IL. also, nicknamed mini RedBud. A 2 month long series would be good,a rider could take a leave of absence from work and have a 2 month dream season. That bike hauler you know sounds great, other haulers will be needed,www.haulbikes.com is prob. the largest, I see them all over the country. I would stick with co.s that are bike specialist, USship might have cheaper rates, but the drivers trailer may not be setup correctly and bike could be damaged. If you have a club member that,s in the trucking industry, they could help you put it together.

If this gathers enough interest to make a series out of it, I could talk to my local track owner about setting a race to run along with it.  Illinois, being right in the middle of the US, makes it more accessible.

What st. r you in CCOADY 454, I,m in Green Bay Wisconsin  It may seem like alot to set all this up, but it can be done. I talked to a tour bus driver for a band wed. night at the motel, for  2 hours. If  your favorite band can live on a bus for 9 months, I think  a mx racer can live on the go also. I talked to a couple from Autralia , they saved there money and  there touring the USA and Canada  for 38 weeks, your allowed 26 weeks in the USA,but if you go to Canada and get your passport stamped your good for 26 more weeks,I believe.
