Wow, must be nice, I wish more people in my town would ride, I cannot count how many times I have been riding at the track by myself haha. It gets scary because here in Kansas it gets pretty windy so I'm always worried ill get in a bad wreck and nobody will be there.

If you are the only one at the track, take advantage of it and practice starts, turns, changing lines, turns, & turns...  Don't do anything you're not comfortable with jump wise.  Take advantage and practice the "boring" stuff...  you'll be amazed how you can lower your lap times when you can turn make the bike turn instead of following the rest of the crowd and the one "good" line.  They'll be amazed how you were able to blow right by them.  Learn how to stay in the meat of the power and not have to feather the clutch (as much).  Work on the same turn until you can "nail" it everytime.  Then string several turns together and ride them until you can ride them without a mistake.  Once you've mastered them, go back and run different lines...  you never know in a race, when your line is taken, and you need to be creative.

Yes I am Michael Heingartner, the legendary Fat ass, HAHA.

But I am on a quest to lose 80 pounds, and race some Nationals for shits and giggles, no real goals, just to do it and have fun.

I also plan to do a half ironman triathlon next year, I did one last year a sprint and it was fun, but I am getting a much better road bike, and its just a goal of mine to do.

Ill get some bike photos this week if I can, I am on a crutch still for another few weeks, so I cant really get it outside to take sweet photos, but Ill see how good of ones I can get inside garage.

I do not have any of that action on video, which sucks, I do have some photos though, but I have nothing of the almost totally naked one at the Chicago AX a few years ago, open faced only had boxers, knee pads, and boots on, and jumped the big finish line jump gooning, hah!

Why do you want to lose weight? That's not necessarily always good. What you want to do is slim up. Since muscle weighs more than fat, you may only lose 40-50 pounds but look really good.

In motocross you don't want a whole lot of muscle mass... you want small amounts of super dense muscle
I'd rather be riding...

I raced NETRA Junior Enduros and NESC motocross in New England from '81 to '85, and got out of it for 21 years.  Started back up when I turned 40 in '06, been doing the Maine Motocross Series in the 40+ C class ever since.  The Maine National Enduro went right by my house this year, definitely got the itch to get back in the woods.....  The trusty '98 YZ250 is more than adequate for both at my skill level!!

My point still stands.
